Can I use SMBX, or is this only RPG maker, in the rules, it doesn't make it that clear.
Well, pyro, I would think the rule that would most apply to that question would be...

author=Tau
You can use any 2D game maker you want.

As far as I know, SMBX makes 2-D maps. You should be good, I would think.

O.k., that'a good and dandy, but I just remembered, I need to get a move on with my SMBX game, and plusd, I just checked it out, and when I was adding a boss...apparently to much stuff had been added. The error showed up and it closed me out of the program. Maybe I'll try again later?

CLOSAT - The Culmination - {DEADLINE IMMINENT!}

I'm so sorry, forgive me, I hope this still counts, I couldn't continue or else I would just start being way too random and make it go to shit, but I couldn't add anything to the already existing story because of the exact same thing, so, I couldn't get it to at least 750 words, I did get to 620 words. Does that count? I hope it still counts.

Info:

Characters:
Fredia Coho
A woman with curly blonde hair, glasses, and green eyes; Age: 24
Coho's of many backgrounds. She was a former farm girl and girl scout growing up. She now works as an army boot camp trainer-- and a part-time Viking mascot. Coho is fluent in Norwegian and likes consuming popcorn-flavoured Harry Potter jellybeans.
Clinton Miles (M)
Bald 14-year-old with striking blue eyes. Cooking prodigy.
Clint was born bald, yet never grew hair when he aged. He was drawn to cooking when he discovered that chefs wore hats, sparing him the pain of being ridiculed for his baldness. He's become so skilled at cooking, the royal palace hired him on as head chef.

Location:
Kelig Zoo:
Situated along a main thoroughfare, the Kelig Zoo gathers animal specimens from near and far for entertainment and educational purposes. Like many zoos, Kelig is sectioned in zones relative to their specimen's natural habitat.

Outside of caring for their animal charges, they do provide a make-shift meeting place at the centre of the area. It has room and facilities enough for special occasions, such as birthdays or business meetings. However, the reality is that it is barely used outside of wandering families and their picnic lunches, or couples that happen to date there.

Object:
Binky's Drawings
A bunch of scrunched up pictures drawn by a child named Binky. Binky's Drawings consist of 2 pictures drawn on restaurant napkins. The drawing utensil of choice was a "Purple Mountain's Majesty" Crayola crayon.

Situation:
Someone is cutting up a piece of cardboard.

Action:
Strolling along the sunset swept beach of Turtle Bay, Oahu, Hawai'i.

Theme:
Changing yourself to help those you love - Sometimes it’s necessary to change and move on before you're love ones are left behind\leave you behind\ something unfortunate happens to them.

Story:

"Hello, um...what's your name?", Fredia asked the little kid as it smiled at her. A man walked over to her, "Is this your child?", he asked.
"No, I was wondering who's this was, I was just about to search."
"Well, he has been putting his drawings all over my cardboard, the one over there, I've been practicing on it ever since I was fired for an accident at that royal palace. Now I work here, and this kid is just annoying me."
"Wait, you practice on cardboard...because you were fired from a palace...and you're practicing here? At Kelig Zoo?", Fredia just shook her head, as the man tried to make an excuse. "I was a pretty good cook...up until I tried showing off, and well, cut the prince's finger off, I wasn't exactly fired in that case. You could say I ran for my life, or I would end up in prison for life."
"Oh...", Fredia said, now realizing what happened.
"Yeah, some people wanted someone experienced here, and wanting to practice if I want to do the trick again, I've been practicing cutting cardboard, the only thing they'll allow me to cut. Oh, how rude of me, all this time, I haven't greeted myself! Hi, my name is Clinton Miles-", Fredia cut him off to ask, "Do you always where that hat?"
"I hate it when people ask about the hat..."
"Oh come on, it looks silly. Take it off.", Fredia told the man.
"No.", Clinton answered.
"Take. It. Off. Now.", Fredia ordered this time.
"Why?"
"I want to see you, the hat makes it too dark to see who I am talking too.", she answered.

Clinton sighed, hesitated, and then took off the hat. Fredia smiled, "Now that wasn't too bad, was it?"
"So you aren't going to laugh because I'm bald?", Clinton asked.
"Trust me, I've seen worse. I've been a farm girl, a boot camp trainer, a girl scout, and even a part-time Viking mascot. I've seen plenty of bald and strange men. You aren't the worse."
"Well, thanks...I guess."
She started walking away, then turned around, "Aren't you gonna help me find the parents of this baby?"
He smiled and said, "Yeah, I'm coming..."

three years later...

Clinton and Fredia were on their honeymoon at the sunset swept beach of Turtle Bay, Oahu, Hawaii, walking a stroller holding the now three years old kid#he still liked his stroller for some reason, and it was the only way they could keep their eyes on him#, after being married just yesterday. On that day they met, they could not find the parents so they just adopted him. They decided to name him Binky, because he looked like one.
"Nice that for once you aren't worrying about your bald spot.", Fredia told her new husband.
Clinton smiled and said, "People can change..."
Fredia looked at him and smiled, then looked at Binky, "Um, what are you doing?"
"Mommy, look at me!", he held up one of his drawings on a paper napkin. He used the purple mountains majesty crayola crayons they bought him a few days ago. There were two drawings, one with Clinton and Fredia happy, and one with them sad.
"Why are we sad?"
"Because, you can't be alone. I'm here."
Clinton looked at the kid and giggled, "Well we're happy you're here. So don't worry about us."
Binky smiled, as Fredia looked back at Clinton, "Looks like you've really changed, I remember a time when he used to annoy you with those kinds of pictures."
"Yeah, so have you been cheating on me?"
"Yes."
"With who..."
"Clinton Miles"
The next thing you know, they kissed, and everything went great after that...

Yeah of course.

@arcan - Hey, someone had to do it.

Can I use SMBX, or is this only RPG maker, in the rules, it doesn't make it that clear.

I'm almost done and may need help with some other things...

I'd prefer to test. The way you put it, I'd be helpful to you. So we both win!

YAY! You're in, now...how should we go about this, I send you new levels I make for the episode, and you see if they have bugs and if they're too easy or hard for where they are in the game? Or should we just do it where I send you all levels I've done so far, in case BoG missed something when he tested?(we can continue this through PMs)

Developer's Spot#1: I'm an NPC, The Role of NPCs in Your Games

I use NPCs as an idea to tell the player how the world is like to the characters, not what, but how. If there's an evil king who rules a country with 2 cities, one rebellious and one under a spell, how do they act to it? And does the player's character react to it as well. Anything that hapens in a story, doesn't have to happen to a whole town, but should only effect the NPCs that are related to it, unless something out there is gossiping or just literally blurting it out to the whole god damn town. That's what I think.

I'm almost done and may need help with some other things...

I'd be happy to test and/or create some stages with you.
I could use the practice.

Which job would you like more, create or test. Becuase I need a really good player to test my difficult stages because honest to god I fucking suck at difficult levels, and making them(in some cases I make them too difficult or too easy, always in the extremes for some reason...kinda)

I didn't know you made a nugget crash course version.
One would only really know about the "Nugget Crash Curse" version if one was involved in that event, was a judge of said event, or clicked on the downloads tab. No real loss on your part, since, as you say, I've been working on it since then. To the betterment of the game, I would hope!

O.k.

CLOSAT - The Culmination - {DEADLINE IMMINENT!}

If you write your story first and want to do the challenge after your done, can you do the challenge. By this, I mean can you write your first story. then ask for the challenge to write another story? Or is it only one story per person. And if you can write more for this, what's the max?
