Well this was a super useful and fun event. Inspired me to show something I was currently working on and I got useful feedback. Not to mention seeing what a lot of other people are capable of who are also working right now kind of motivates me more haha.

author=pianotmI honestly don't know what you mean by controller haha. LMMS has soundfont support + an alright piani roll so I'm good to go off just by that. I just wish you could export songs without it ruining the quality. (I can go past that by recording it on audacity)zDSOkay, I see the thing. LMMS is a mixer. I need a controller and I don't have one. I use MuseScore specifically because it's a notation program.

@Red_Nova Thank you! I always love getting a reaction like that. I worry, because I hear all the problems my music has and think everybody's going to hear them. Actually, I'm using a free program right now called MuseScore. I've been ultimately preferring it because of how much it reminds me of Cakewalk. It has a few annoying things it does, though, still it's the best freeware available.

The icons and the sprite look super professional. Nice stuff. I'd love to see an actual screenshot.

The environment's shading from the sprite looks a lot cleaner compared to the pixelated style of the sprite. With that said, I personally like that contrast. It makes the sprite pop out more. Regarding the eyes on the sprite: I think if your intention was to make the eye pop out more, like a cyborg eye or even injured eye, then it does its job well.

I can't tell, but it seems like most of this is custom graphics with some RTP graphics mixed in there and here. I'm not sure if that's a case or not, but if you do go custom, try to go all custom. The main characters have the clean rtp style compared to mostly snes style environments. The tactics battle system seems interesting!

That map is a hella big and empty. You might want to figure out a way to drastically reduce that size. Or add stuff to make it less big and empty.

That first map is dead gorgeous. I'm wowed. The second map is good as well, but it's quite hard to compare to the first one haha. I think it's because the second one is in a more modern area so it needs to be flatter. Either way, looking really nice.

If you're going with those custom characters, you might want to think about going all the way custom. Also, that map is waaay to big, you need to drastically shrink the size. And maybe add more color to it.

Trippy geometry shapes. Looks interesting. You might want to think about making the environment colors a lot more simple. It looks like a barren desert but it's a bit off because everything is too simple. Simple is good, especially if the focus is geometry shapes. Maybe the ground should be stylized a bit more, like maybe more grey rather than the usual colors.

None of that is ripped, haha. I'm going for a simple old school vibe. I kinda copied styles of what some of those games did with, like have the walls be filled with the pillar thingies to make it seem less flat overall while being extremely simple. All the stuff is what I built from scratch though.
About the battle. I did not work long on the background yet, it's more of a "test". I highly considered making it pitch black, but right now I'm trying to go for a simple monochrome version of outside that's mostly black. The enemy position I still have yet to experiment much with as well. Still trying to find the right position haha.
@Piano Thanks! The lack of floor in this case is only for this area, as I wanted a feeling of darkness to be convoyed haha. I have not played Ultima. I'd be a poser if I said I was that old school.
@Red_Nova I do intend the floor to be darkness, but I don't want total void to the point people think I forgot to put the tiles in haha. I think I'll just make a normal style floor for it to avoid confusion. A lighter shade of grey miiiiight help what I am going for however. Will try.

@Liberty The event page is good. Sanic gives all developers hope that they can do anything then are crushed by the quality and speed of Sanic.
Really though, I know what it's like to feel like it's next week but turns out it's this week haha. Time sucks sometimes.
