Introduction
It's been a while since we last had one of these and I'm not one to chit-chat during run-downs, so let's get straight to the meat, shall we?

Best of the Blogs
This is basically a run-down of what I believe were the best of the blogs this week. It's opinion, sure, but you'll just have to deal or make your own Blogs of the Week post. That said, we're looking for volunteers~

Archeia_Nessiah discusses Development Hell and gives out some tips on how to deal with it in her recent Porcupine Princess blog.

TFT talks about features and why people don't expand on why they add them in his newest Rainbow Nightmare blog.

Caz shows off some new and old and asks opinions on faces in the newest The Only One Left blog.

Zeuzio shows off some areas from Vagabond in a series of blogs. Areas include Elnia's Tower, Sentia Jungle, Marala Lake and the Nocturna Plains. Check them out!

Announcement Blogs
We have quite a few Announcement blogs this week. So, let's get this rolling right off, shall we?

Indra's main project, In Search for Dragons, is now back on track and she talks about it and its prequel in this blog.

Infinity 3 has started back up, with some new content added and edits to the morality system, according to Nick.

Middens, myformerselves' current game, has just had a new demo release and with it a few blogs. This is the most recent one, though. He also showed off the trailer.

Kirroha also announces a new release - Demo 2.01 of Astral Transparency: Cole's Gate.

Felipe announces a new demo for Super Smash Bothers Crusade as well.

Orias_Obderhode announces the newest demo for Dragon Quest: Legacy of the Lost.

HedgeMage warns of a bug error in End of Legends, not long after the download became available.

According to EriksBlue, progress on Torn Apart: The Con of a Blade will be slowing down.

TheRexion talks a bit about the trouble he's having with Pokemon Trinity and why progress has been slowed down.

Sadly, Project: Side Clash has just been cancelled by its creator, pokemon 2127; as has Dragon Quest + and Ljink lets us know why in this post.

Poor Adon237 has had a run of terrible luck with Stonesearch and had to cancel it.

Link_2112 posts a blog to announce that The Legend of Zelda is on hold and his future gaming plans.

Everguard releases some new information about Act III of The Master of Souls.

spirit_young announces a walkthrough for Grissam.

WCouillard adds some documentation for Final Fantasy: Discovery.

Game Design Blogs
There haven't been many Game Design blogs this week, but what we have had are worth a look!

dragonheartman answers a question from an anonymous fan and talks about revisions to Starless Umbra and his plans for the game.

Xenomic posts a to-do list for his game, Touhou Fantasy.

Craze talks about the character attributes and relationships in his new project, Promised Abyss.

Miscellaneous Blogs
Again, not many blogs in this section, but what is here is interesting!

jesk77 shows off a cinematic trailer for The Black Chamber. It's pretty cool.

Marrend puts out a pair of Uchioniko blogs; one about scripts and the usage of, and the other indulging in a little Role Play Interviewing.

Dark Gaia talks about how trolling can affect a games reputation on other sites in his Legionwood blog.

miceylulu lets people know they're starting on the next part of Lives of Elenthui.

A full page of Progress Reports this week~

Request Blogs
Only two request blogs this week. Why not give them a squiz and see what they need help with?

spirit_young is asking for some feedback for his game, Plunge of the Knight.

BlackPass requests an artist who would be willing to draw two boss sprites for Final Seedlic: Evermore Final Part.

Outroduction
So that's it for this week in blogs. If you have any questions, queries or suggestions, just let me know in the comment section. But seriously? Go check out some of these blogs, okay?

This is a neat article type, I approve of this recap.
Heh; I don't know. I could go through the blog list and derive almost as much information from the titles alone...

I like this initiative but I think an article like this should focus on the best blogs only, and explain why they're considered good... The idea (I think) is to reward people who put on an extra effort to write blogs, and for other people to start recognizing the qualities that make a blog good. That way they can follow the example and get their blog featured the next time. But if all blogs are listed without discrimination then people will just continue doing their thing because they'll get their blog mentioned anyway.

Though there's something to be said about the Best of the Blogs showing up on the top page of RMN, and the others not.
I think this form of blog advertising influences well made blogs, while giving people a reason to update their game once and awhile.

I disagree. Having an all inclusive list is good because it draws attention to things that might not be super popular/buzzing.
And like I said, you have all that information in the latest blogs section. This feature's main objective was supposed to alleviate the problem of finding good blogs among a sea of crappy ones, but it didn't solve anything; It's just more of the same thing! There's even blogs in there that I've reported for being crappy, so right now I'm wondering if any of this is really worth it...

IMO, It's worth it. While it doesn't completely fix the "shitty blog" problem, it at least provides more traffic to projects.
Just so you know, just sifting through all the blogs in one week is time extensive - a lot more than I initially thought it would be. My hat is off to Shinan who used to do this every week. (I literally spent over 5 hours just skimming through all the blogs. That's without the write-up. I even excluded those ones that weren't up to RMN standard or weren't for the general populace (aimed at testers, for example)) as a pseudo punishment (in the case of the ones not up to standard) since shunning sometimes works.

That said, if you'd like to give it a go, Alter - or anyone, you may. Sign up for a week and have at - at the moment it's a loosely rotating occurrence, so that the same person doesn't get bogged down with it week after week. If you want a week, say so and you can have it. It'd be nice to see how other people lay it out and what they focus on. ^.^

If this is really the case, there is still almost certainly a reasonable standard of noteworthiness between your standard of it and Liberty's standard of it, a happy medium so to speak.

Liberty, FTR I think you did a good job and I'd like to see you continue.

5 Hours per week is a substantial time commitment. If my free time was more reliable right now I'd offer to help too, as I've offered to help get the submission queue moving faster in the past.

That said, I wish that articles were not "auto-subscribe" in the content feed.
One thing that I had to decide was whether two line blogs just announcing a release were good or bad. This time I let them through, but next time I might not. Personally I'd like to see people expound a bit on what they say in their blogs - what does the new release entail? - but sometimes people just pop an announcement up as an afterthought or it's the first demo release and don't want to spoil things for those who will be playing. I'm cool with that - for demo/release announcements.

Now if it were for something else, then I have issue. AE, could you PM me a list of the ones you reported? I'd just like to know what ones you consider not good enough. ^.~

Thanks Max, but as I said, we're playing round robin with this so that no-one gets burned out. I'll probably do one again soon, though. :)
I think this is a good idea and gives a better summary. A lot of times I just look at the latest 5 first blogs and just move on and go back to work.
Well, the kind of blogs I tend to report are those you're referring to, Liberty. One/two-line blogs that just go: "I opened rpg maker today" or multiple blogs that go: "version 1.0 out, version 1.1 out, version 1.1b out" I mean, c'mon! The fact that you're making a quick announcement shouldn't be an excuse not to construct your blogs well or edit previous ones... If you gave blogs like that a pass just this once then it's ok, i guess. Bad it would be if they were featured week after week. xP
