Set in the magical world of Eos, a shadow is forming in the east across the demilitarized zone, which separates two powerful nations, the Chaos Imperium in the east and the Holy Empire of Ankhanesia in the west.

They have been in a state of religious cold war for over half a century. The Chaos Supremacists, led by the Imperious-God-Emperor, Xanaphos the Invincible, has been amassing an army the likes of which the world has never seen before. An army bred for one purpose – the total domination of the western-lands, and the destruction of all ideologies that do not conform to its ideals.

Meanwhile in the west, the Ankhanesian Empire is fractured. A civil war has gripped the nation, and the Holy Emperor, Cyrus I, is in a coma due to the trauma of the assassination of his wife and five children.
Their deaths are a total mystery because no bodies have been found.

The story of the game begins, 14 years later, when the fragile peace between the two nations and their allies, is suddenly destroyed.

The Northern Hemisphere of Eos and the Prismoni Union:
The north pole is located at the centre of the map. The equator is around the edge.
The shape of the supercontinent bears some resemblance to a phoenix.

No random encounters. Enemies can be seen and have line of sight and their own behaviours. They have elemental strengths and weaknesses so a good strategy will save your life.

Random item placement and drops. Each playthrough will always be different.

All playable characters and bosses have voiceover.

No level grinding required. All enemies level up with the player. New allies will join the party at a similar level to the player. Certain gear will give the player an advantage.

The number of times you can use a skill is limited until you replenish it by resting or using potions. So that you can't spam the same strong attacks.
Use them wisely.

Day and night system with on-screen clock, seasons, and a dynamic lighting system.

Plenty of puzzles inspired by the game, Chip’s Challenge, a Windows 98 game to rack your brains.

Input chain commands during battles to create combo attacks to inflict more damage.

10-15 hours of non-stop adventuring.

What's new?
- A new journal log in the menu to keep track of quests.
- Optional side quests to expand the lore of Eos.
- Anya's backstory and mission that brings closure to her character.
- Secret places and new areas to visit on the world map.
- More weapons, armours and items including powerful "dark weapons".
- More class skills, weaponskills and special skills.
- Added a variety of fun and challenging minigames and puzzles.
- New characters to interact with, and bosses to defeat.
- Updated the gallery to include more information.
- More in-battle voices and music.
- Unlockable TP modes throughout the game.
- An epilogue pre/post-credits.

I would not recommend using an old save file from a previous version.
Although, the main story should still work but the balancing will be off, and you'll miss out on the new features that 3.01 has to offer.

What's next?
This is a major update so please let me know if you find any bugs/glitches.
The sequel to this game will get a little update in the future so that the continuity, graphics etc, is more consistant with this one.

Thanks in advance for playing. Hope you will like the update.

I'm stuck!
I'm at Horge's Peak, and I don't know what to do! I found Sylvia's headless statue, and also Anya's head in a cave, but I don't know what else should I do!
Have you already found the first sailor in the house in Pern? He will give you the number which will open the portal in the cave in Gorge's Peak.

Thank you!!
Now this game was really fun. Would give it a solid 8 or even 8.5 (Actually I will just go with the latter because I had lots of fun)
Some of the puzzles were... ugh. Most were fun tho, the gameplay was nice enough and I liked the battles esp. when I got strong equipment (Rauf is a boss)
I felt lack of save points at a few spots. Also some areas were so graphic-heavy, I had to be careful I wasn't the running the game too long, or running anything else 'cause the game would shut down. The inn, for example. And the siege, my God that was so graphic-heavy, I am lucky I made it through without the game crashing.
That being said, I liked the characters quite a lot. Esp. Karys. She's such an ojou-sama. And Risa grew on me quite a lot, also very strong. Rauf could compete her all the way tho =) And Victoria was really helpful and almost as strong as the other two fighters. I like how Karys went from stronger combat-wise to weakest combat but best support, haha. Also
rip Anya, actually liked her :/

Couldn't get all the pics tho, got 13/16 and I wonder what's the reward.
Anyways, I am looking forward to the sequel, great job and best of luck =D

Glad you worked it out :)
If inn save point keeps crashing for you, I suggest use the save point in Gorge's peak or the watchtower.

Thanks for your feedback on the game. I'll need to sit down one day and work out what is causing these crashes because it is working for some people but not others.
As for the reward for collecting all the pictures, you'll get a
HP regenerating item to make the boss even easier.

Thanks for playing till the end. Glad you like it.
While this game is, overall, well done, it cannot be ignored that certain aspects of it are annoying and in some cases, infuriatingly so. This game hands you items to give to your characters, but then those characters only turn out temporary party members, who run off with any equipment, as well as status upgrade items that you might have given to them, all with no way of knowing that they were going to leave! WHAT THE HECK?! Is this some new, funky game development style or WHAT?! This would not have been a problem, had there been some indication that certain characters would leave your party again, shortly after joining or if it were impossible to even give those characters better equipment and/or upgrades, but, unfortunately, no such luck! Now that's ridiculous, folks; ridiculous and frustrating!
Anyway, other than that, good game.
Hey I just want to let you know I've been playing through this game, Version 2.01, for the last few days, and when I finish it I plan to write up a review.

I really really like almost everything about the game, it's really well done and amazing really. Almost every aspect of it is very strong and makes the game experience very enjoyable and wonderful.

My only main thoughts of improvement are on the battles themselves, they just feel odd to me the way they are handled and I feel they could've been done so much better then what they are like right now, but I'll go into more details about everything I think and feel about the game after completing it.

Good luck with your sequel too, I subscribed to both game pages on here as I'd love to stay updated on how things go!

Thanks for your comment. You are quite right about the battles feeling a bit odd.
This is the first game that I made using RPG Maker MV, and I was still learning about the features of the game engine and what it could do. There are some things that I would've added in this game, but I will be adding it to the sequel instead.
Thanks again for playing. I look forward to reading your more in-depth review.
How do you get into Johns house. Its asking for a code.

How do you get into Johns house. Its asking for a code.

The answer is 31542. Emilia's diary would've given you this with one number missing.
Hey, great game! I'm almost done with the whole "John" event, and so far, here are some comments/suggestions.

Suggestions:

(1) The birthday code's year should not be that of the current year, unless John's child was literally just born (but Emilia's diary says otherwise) - I tried a lot of combinations, but never with the year "64", since I assumed the child was at least 2+ yrs old.

(2) Anya's "Tornado" is extremely powerful - too powerful for 200 MP. Since it's at least as strong as Karys' 800 MP mass-ice attack against 3 foes or less, I'd recommend making it at least 800 MP cost. Less spammable.

(3) Journal should contain more important information - Especially in the "John" scenario, there are a lot of things going on at the same time. If I take a break from playing, and come back, I'd like to remember important milestones/progress I've made by reading it in the journal.

(4 - Battle mechanics) Early on bosses (and a lot of regular enemies) should be buffed, IMO. Specifically, the "Ogre Boss", the "Shadowbat Queen", but also most of the bosses in general.
They should do more damage (for instance Ogre Boss does very little, and even late in the game, damage output from enemies was quite low), and have some "surprises" in store, in the form of buffs/powerful attacks.

You did give a lot of enemies debuffing/status inflictors, which was good.

Further, Marius was very well done as an early boss - had strong spread attacks, including an M-ATK buff (that surprised me). More like that.

Overall, in RPG MV, the fights tend to be much more drawn out and lengthy - as a result, it's not that bad to give bosses strong area attacks and powerful buffing skills (or stacking boosts).

Still, keep in mind that I did not find the battles "too easy" at all - it was more like I was rarely in danger, and just had to get the win (except against Marius, who I was on my feet the whole battle).

Comments:

(1) I love the aesthetic of the game. Brilliantly put together. You see a lot of very choppy maps, and it just ruins the experience, even if the battles are well balanced.

(2) The character development is also very good. Very involved and in-depth.

(3) Overall, a very addictive game, with a good story that keeps moving along. Since it seems like the story is about to end with Risa still in the most western area, hopefully there will be some sequels to come.

About the safe combination. John changes it every year after his daughter's birthday so he wouldn't forget her next birthday the following year. So the next one would be "65" if you decide to wait long enough in the game.
I am working on a sequel for this game and the battles will be more complicated with more surprises. I will implement your suggestions on this one, and when I have time, I will have a look at this game's bosses as well.
