This game is a work of fiction. All persons, places, religions, laws and names appearing in it have no relation to the real world.

This game started out as a short story that I wrote for an English assignment during my high school days. It developed into something much more complex since Japanese animation became one of my main hobbies and inspirations.
Now all those ideas have been fully realized into a game, which I hope, everyone can enjoy.

The full name of this project is: Megami Ankhanessa no Monogatari (The story of the Goddess Ankhanessa): Journey to the East.

Current version: 2.01.
Recommended age: 13+ Contain elements of fear, cartoon violence, mild bad language and reference to alcohol.

Turn on "Synch Monitor FPS" in options to ensure mini-games, cut-scenes and animations run at the correct speed.

The sequel, Journey to the East II: The Empress and the Sorceress, can be found here

Controls:
Cursor Keys - Movement, Z - Interact, X - Menu/Cancel, Hold shift+Direction - Dash.
Psychic Combat - Cursor Keys, Z, X, A, S.
Chain Combo commands - Cursor Keys, Z, X.
(Recommended you don't change these keys especially Z, X, A, S as they are needed to be inputted correctly during combat).

Set in the magical world of Eos, a shadow is forming in the east across the demilitarized zone, which separates two powerful nations, the Chaos Imperium in the east and the Holy Empire of Ankhanesia in the west.

They have been in a state of religious cold war for over half a century. The Chaos Supremacists, led by the Imperious-God-Emperor, Xanaphos the Invincible, has been amassing an army the likes of which the world has never seen before. An army bred for one purpose – the total domination of the western-lands, and the destruction of all ideologies that do not conform to its ideals.

Meanwhile in the west, the Ankhanesian Empire is fractured. A civil war has gripped the nation, and the Holy Emperor, Cylus I, is in a coma due to the trauma of the assassination of his wife and five children.
Their deaths are a total mystery because no bodies have been found.

The story of the game begins, 14 years later, when the fragile peace between the two nations and their allies, is suddenly destroyed.

The Northern Hemisphere of Eos and the Prismoni Union:
The north pole is located at the centre of the map. The equator is around the edge.
The shape of the supercontinent bears some resemblance to a phoenix.

No random encounters. Enemies can be seen and have line of sight and their own behaviours. They have elemental strengths and weaknesses so a good strategy will save your life.

Random item placement and drops. Each playthrough will always be different.

All playable characters and bosses have voiceover.

No level grinding required. All enemies level up with the player. New allies will join the party at a similar level to the player. Certain gear will give the player an advantage.

The number of times you can use a skill is limited until you replenish it by resting or using potions. So that you can't spam the same strong attacks.
Use them wisely.

Day and night system with on-screen clock, seasons, and a dynamic lighting system.

Plenty of puzzles inspired by the game, Chip’s Challenge, a Windows 98 game to rack your brains.

Input chain commands during battles to create combo attacks to inflict more damage.

10-15 hours of non-stop adventuring.

I'm not sure what to do about a boulder that's blocking the path to the Karela fort. How do I move it out of the way?

Search the skeleton in the spirit cave where you got Nezumi. You will get the moonstone. Revive the girl using the stone.
Please read my message, loved your game soo much ❤

Thanks for playing :)
I am having trouble with the persuasion points and it may possibly be a bug in the game. So far, I have 6 persuasion points, and I have looked into your hints and have completed 2 through 7. I talked to Edna at least several dozen times and that is where I am stuck because I cannot get the last persuasion point from her.

My question is what are you suppose to do with Edna besides just talking to her? Are you suppose to get something or complete a task? Also, are you required to go through your persuasion points in order? If so, I think that was why I am not able to get all 7 persuasion points. I went through it in random order. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Could you possibly put your save up in your locker so I can have a look.
Also, you don't need to do it in order.
Make sure you go through all dialogue of the diary. Find Erika 3 times, show Delphina the potion, not just beat her etc.

The first map of Merrin Forest, there are some steps that lead to a cave.
Find the unconscious girl, trigger the mission.
The moonstone will appear on the other cave.
Grr and/or argh. Was in (I think) Merrin Forest, went in the cave, found an unconscious girl and a dog, then I went south, where another unconscious girl turned out to be an (emphasis mine) literally unstoppable demon bitch that brutally murdered us in two turns and to whom we could not do a point of damage.

What gives?

Ignore her.

I'm glad you like the game.
As for the problem, I've had it before but it happens so rarely (only seen it 3 times in 2 years) that it is hardly a problem for me.
I'm guessing it is the rpg maker engine and it isn't perfect, still have bugs.
The way to fix it is close the game and reload the save.
I tried but didnt work
maybe ı should reset the game in other words starting from the beginning
thanks for your helping and attention :)
Needs more save points. Just died and was forced back to the top of the clock tower and now I need to make my way through the underground horror that is the sanctuary.

I agree with you this part can be quite unforgiving since it's the enemy hideout.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will address this in the next patch.
So I finished the game, had a lot of fun. Though there were points that I raged on. Such as the lack of saves but that wasn't too bad. The escaping was my biggest issue 9 time out of 10 I would fail running away which made things difficult for me especially with the lack of healing items.

Thanks for playing, glad you had fun. I'm still going to smooth out the gameplay, and I know there are some rough areas in the game. That's why I'm still releasing patches. Thanks for the feedback.
Is there a cheat or something for the Delphina fight? I can't get used to where the Z is once I put the keyboard on English, otherwise it's too far away and neither of them works for me in order to beat her. The others were also just really lucky while I was failing around to remember which key was where. I know this isn't a huge problem for others, but it's burning me out, is there a cheat or a plugin i could use? I really just want to get through it, please.

I think you can go to the keyboard config in options and change the key that is assigned to the "z" key.
Alternatively, get your attack as high as possible and fight her without the "z" key. Sometimes you might not get as many.
I'm hitting some major choice paralysis with the prologue. Is there any kind of guide on what each choice does to effect the game? Or at least some kind of hints on what they do? I know which ones I want to pick 'cause they're the ones that feel right, but I don't want to miss out on anything by picking the wrong option.

It doesn't make a major difference to the game. Just alters your crit rate and resistances to the elements. Generally, you should pick the answers that reject god's power and influence.
Pick "sacriface life" for easier end game.
