Regrets and Desires

*peeks head in to check no-one is around, then sneaks in*

Wow... it feels almost alien for me to sit down and write another blog (No. 198 as of writing). Not to mention the last blog for this game was written more than two years ago. And because Icebound is still pending, I'll probably just write the blog here.

So you'd probably be asking me why I'm writing another piece for a game that was completed in November 2014?

Well, thing is... The commercial evil is calling out to me. Like most hobbyists, I do dream about making a full-time living out of doing something I love so I can quit my dreary, soul-sucking 8-5 job.

It can seriously stifle the creative spirit and probably one of the reasons why my game-dev passion just vanished a few years ago. But now, having reached the ripe old age of 30 and forever leaving my twenties behind, I figured that:

1) I can't take life too seriously (most of my games have been pretty serious)
2) Let go of past grudges and
3) It is about high-time I decided to make the life I want to live and not be slave to a dreary job where getting a double bonus at the end of the year makes it bearable (it isn't).

I've also decided to buck-up on my art skills so that when I do go commercial one day, I can at least save myself a few hundred bucks by not hiring an artist. zero-project's (my music-muse) music is free for all commercial work, so that's one less problem to worry about.

Hello Laine, my old friend.

I'm also feeling a bit overwhelmed at trying to familiarise myself with MV. The engine has enormous potential, but all these plug-ins... Yanfly is seriously on a roll. To someone who has been using VX since late 2010-early 2011, to me it feels like the equivalent of going from paddling around in a baby pool, to diving off the 10-metre springboard. But I know it will pay off in the long-term. But I'll probably end up making a few short games in MV before taking this huge step.

It's exciting, but also terrifying at the same time. I need to let go of my innermost fears and just release all that pent-up creative energy. What is my innermost fears, you ask?

Well...

It is the fear of failure. Also, the fear of letting down people who expect great things from you, who expect you to be at the top of your game no matter what. But worst of all, for me at least, is when someone (whether in real life or on the internet) expresses immense disappointment in you. That... has always struck me hard and always sits like a lead balloon in my chest.

As to what happened about a year-and a half ago...

I regret it, and bitterly. I lost a few good friends that day, and I still it to this day. Every time I thought about RMN during my hiatus, that was the first incident I thought of. But I guess I'll have to learn to live with it.

So, here's to a better and more productive 2018! No more fears, no more past regrets, and no more looking back.

This is Luchi, who is now officially back from the dead, signing out.
Blog No. 198 written.

Also, the blog title is totally not a reference to an episode in Granblue.

I can't find the Spring that purifies that damn object for the final hunt.
Been all over the Ulaid Forest, seen the pixie that sais "Human, go away",
Ilian Spear is in my inventory, not equipped. So where is that damn Spring?

On that note, I'm sorry that Vol.1 is almost at the end. Hope Vol.2 is coming soon.

In the forest of Lothlorien, in the hidden village of the Fianna.

I really hope that Pixie has a role in the next one, I did wonder what her issue was.
Given that I have a new artist on board and that all the portraits and cutscenes ( with possibly even more scenes in the future ), Vol II probably won't be seeing a release for a while. After all, Enelysion only came out last year September. =)

Guess ending it on a cliff-hanger is sort of a double-edged sword.

Thanks a lot, would never of founded it.

Sadly finish the game. It's a great game and I'll probably replay it soon, while
waiting for next vol. When approximately do expect to finish vol.2?

Well, going to play Lady of the Lion now.
Tristian is only a tech demo, though. Around 45mins - 1 hr. As for finishing Vol II of Enelysion... next year...? Depends on how long the art takes, and I don't want to rush my artist.

Not going to be so simple, I'm afraid, given Pat's backstory. To sum it up, the little guy was abandoned at a young age, then was taken in by a bishop who went on to become the leader of Pat's Brotherhood. And as a sign of gratitude, he decided to become a priest and take on a vow of celibacy. He's also a person of his word. His star sign ( Pisces ) may be compatible with Laine's ( Capricorn ) but I can't see them together in the long run. ;_;

Isn't that just the literal worst??

I HAVE SO MANY SHIPS THAT WILL NEVER BE SHIPPED because omg personality clashes/they're already exes/someone burned down the other person's city/etc.

But hey, that's what AUs are for. >_>
Well, I can always offer compromises by making alternate endings. =)

Hmm, lets see, Patrick, having been abandoned is like someone else, a child of a prodigious house. Not a bastard-born one, but stolen from his ancestral home by would-be ransomers. The plot goes wrong, the ransomers kill one another over the money before returning the child and the girlfriend of one of the villains panics and leaves the child at the local monastery to be raised.

The girlfriend, now wealthy beyond her wildest expectations goes on to make a place for herself in society, and lives a good life, but when Patrick turns up in the capital and his resemblance to his natural family is remarked upon, she feels compelled to reveal all and Patrick is reunited with his loving family who never gave up hope. His father however has passed away and his mother is struggling. Faced with the fact he is the only son and heir to his family's estate and the responsibility that entails he goes to his bishop, begs to be released from his vows so that he may be honourable in the eyes of his family, and promising to carry the teachings of the order into the running of his estate and the education of his vassals. Which, coincidentally also frees him for other pursuits.

Boom, done. Yeah, I know, silly. but that was fun.

ngl that's exactly how I fixed that problem for myself: complex systems of multiple endings. OTL

There's always the full otome route. Sprinkle plenty of choices and side events with hidden relationship point trackers. Then complete Vol. 2 once its finished and see if and/or who Laine ends up with.

Kidding. *cough*

*goes back to lurking*
Hey, this is an RPG, not a dating simulator. XD Can you imagine the horror if Laine were to end up with Cillian? 0_o

Btw, nhubi, your plot made me laugh. Anyhing to ease poor Pat from losing his Laine, eh? XD I think we need more fan art of them together.

Cillian's actually my favorite male party member! (/•ิ_•ิ)/
A fan for Cil! Hurray! :D I like all four party members, tbh.

Believe me, in the early stages of Enelysion, Cillian was the most boring party member ever. A typical knight in shining armour with absolutely no snark attached to him. He kinda reminded me of Fire Emblem's Kent, Sain and Geoffrey. >< Only difference was, he wasn't crushing on the 'princess-type' character like those three ( Kent on Lyn, Seth on Eirika and Geoffrey on Elincia. Urgh ).

So I had to fix that.
I just opened the game, and I'm getting a lot of errors. Note, i'm using version 1.3. The first was a missing DLL file, that was easy to fix myself. Others, not so much. The first is "Missed File: Graphics/System/Window", after which I am presented with the main menu. I hit New Game, more missing files appear-- "Missed File: Graphics/Characters/Vehicle". These three errors (missing dll, missing graphics files" worry me a bit.

EDIT: After the intro, received ""Missed file: Graphics/Characters/People4" and now there's a speech bubble over air. =/ Going to start listing missing files...

There's a hole army of missing files here, and this is just from downloading v1.3

Yuna may need to confirm but I think you need the RTP already installed to play the game. You can get it here, just choose the VX version.

http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/run-time-packages

It makes sense to have it in the long run as you can then download the non-rtp version of games which are always much smaller.
I finally started playing the game and being the master of exploration that I am, I stumbled upon a hidden merchant. This particular merchant sells elixirs for free...which I assume is a glitch. I'm the type that likes a challenge, so I won't be using something like this in my run.

Also in the destroyed town there is a cracked wall that you can walk on. I can provide a screenshot if necessary, but it is pretty easy to find.

Also in the bestiary it doesn't seem to be showing all of my found monsters. It says I've discovered 12 monsters, but there is only 9 listed. One such monster is the fire wisp (I found out about this while wanting to make sure I was hunting the right monster for a certain drop).

Besides that report, the game is interesting thus far. I've done all the sidequests, and found the regen ring early. Well, I am off to tackle the forest and I'll post more when I am further in the game.

Edit: Minor glitch, but in Ogham village, inside the relic shop, if you examine the bottom of the table to the right, it talks about the relic being devoid of any power. It works for the top and left of the table, but at the bottom, I doubt laine could see it at the bottom, due to a flower pot being in her line of vision.

Yeah Demonlord, that merchant is a glitch, there is actually another one that sells the elixirs for zero too, Yuna has fixed it in the version she is working on that incorporates the second volume. We all just ignore it.

I noticed that thing about the bestiary too, by the end I'd filled every empty spot but I was only at 86% completion, and that's including the bosses and hidden bosses sub-lists.
Thanks nhubi, i havent received one single error message since.
