Synopsis:

13th April 2020, Ravier Connor, Director and Biggest Shareholder of Vizrel Electronics Industry, invites Damien Raizen to play test his ‘Warfare Simulation’. Claiming that it’s a game, Damien, an avid gamer, decides to give it a shot only to be told later that the actual game requires at least 4 people to attempt.

In their time going through the events that are happening around them, they slowly realized Ravier’s aim for recruiting them in his game stretches far and beyond ‘play testing’ his so-called ‘Warfare simulation RPG’

Introduction:

Black Galax: Revert is an urban fantasy, paranormal horror mystery with a pinch of romance game.

It is a story of uncovering the mysterious nature of a particular artifact called ‘Black Galax’ that has existed for centuries while exploring each of the character’s past and how they are related to the events that are about to unfold during the game.

If you are a fan of an in-depth world where politics (autocracy) and history is discussed, references to anime and games, scientific stuff, occult, characters, tons of foreshadowing with no direct answer, a seemingly-convoluted-but-actually-not plot, String Theory, and some more themes that cannot be said because spoiler, you might like this game.

Before you know it? Like when you're playing blind.
Also, were the hints helpful in figuring out the culprit? Or are they too obvious?

Sorry for all that questioning. Just want some feedback for a little rebalancing I'm doing atm. :D
before I know it, it was all dead and the last was gary xD bcs I don't know the pass ._. I already know from the first it was gary because he just only saying his nickname >.>
Ah... I see I see.
Thanks for the input.
I have ran into game breaking bug. At the boss right after I save, I am getting a Script Game Interpreter line 1409 error. Game System 0x981d1d0

I guess you're referring to the final boss of Prologue 1?
Hmm... I didn't use any script calls that could've caused the crash.
Maybe try loading the save again?
This game looks unique and interesting, but the opening scenes confuse the hell out of me.
First of all, there was a bit too much jumping in the beginning. It seems you are trying to tell players a few things. As everything flashes through so quickly, I don't know about other players, I actually got nothing. You have spent a couple precious minutes and obviously a lot of effort on the opening, it'll all be wasted if you don't get your ideas across. There are times, less is truly more.

Second, I know you try to maintain an element of mystery, but all those ????s in the entrance all are very confusing. It's hard to tell who's talking and where I should focus my attention on. I found my head filled with ???? as well.
I would recommend using a few face graphics to help clarify the events. That'll help grab player's attention, too.

And, unless you are using the basic turn based battle system, a brief battle training would help easing players into it. At least let players know what skills and items they have at their disposal before they get thrown into a battle.

Well, what do I know?
Just my two cents.

PS. Oh, it will help to cut down on the talking and narration, unless this is meant to be a visual novel. (I didn't get that far yet, sorry)
Hey there! Thanks for your opinion.

For the opening, I originally wanted to cut out the text after the 3 cutscenes as they reference the prequel story that I'm doing at the moment and just show the cutscenes. But ultimately I'm like, fuck it, just leave it with the thought that maybe people might be able understand the ending events of Blood Legacy (Prequel).

As for the 3 cutscenes at the start, I don't intend for the players to understand anything apart from knowing that 'this happened' if you get my meaning. What actually happened will be explained in the story at some point of time.

As for the ???? I would assume you're referring to the confrontation and I understand where you're coming from. Perhaps you'll think that I'm lazy for saying this but: I can't find any suitable facesets for them. XD Trust me, I would've loved to give all them a faceset if possible. Though I thought it was pretty obvious who's who, but then again it's not for me to say because I'm the creator.

As for the Basic Turn Based Battle, it is quite basic actually. There aren't any 'deep' mechanics behind them and in my opinion, it is similar to any other turn based battles out there, with a few additional gimmicks that are explained at a point of time. Skills wise, the characters only start with around 1 - 2 skills so I guess it wouldn't be too hard for players to grasp.

I'm not sure how far you're into the game so it's hard for me say. But just want to let you know I'm also relatively new to the realm of story telling and this is technically the very first game I made. On a personal level, I like games with a good plot, so I tried to have one as well for this game.

Unlike other games, or at least other RPG Maker games I played of similar nature, this game has substantially more dialogue and I can easily say you'll be spending at least 50% of your time reading dialogue. Apart from the first prologue which has quite a bit of narration, most dialogues present in this game are mostly character discussions.

So yeah, once you get further into the game, let me know your thoughts on how I executed the plot. Even if it's bad XD
Thanks again for taking the time to write your 2 cents.
This game is great, but there are many verb conjugation errors that make dialogue awkward to read. May I suggest spell checking your work before releasing it? Other than that, good work!

Well, I'm kind of stuck outside of Ravier's mansion, unable to find a key or some other ways to get in. Is there a way to turn off the data sound whenever someone speaks?

What I mean is that, in RPGs, words are like poison at times, use them carefully. Do try to avoid a 20 min information dump in the beginning. You'll put your players to sleep. If it were a commercial game, you'll lose players in the first 5 minutes for sure. Paying customers are pickier and more demanding. But you're OK here since it's a free game. Don't worry. You won't be judged as harshly.

Try not to hop from scene to scene so frequently, though. It's not just confusing, it gets annoying, too. I understand you are trying to tell 3 or 4 sides of the story at the same time. Sometimes you just have to pick and choose what's more important, and find a better way to do it.

That's what I have so far, since I'm stuck.
I don't want to give viewers impressions that I don't like this game. I wouldn't bother with it if I didn't. Your game seems to have a nice story backbone(which is what a lot of games are lacking), and the mapping is nice, too. (Are those Lunarea's tilesets? They look nice.) If you aren't sure about the best ways to execute your plots. I'd say, pay attention to how others implement their ideas in their stories. Play GOOD games. It's worth paying for commercial games from time to time. If you don't have the money, at least play their DEMOs.

Could you erm... explain? Thanks XD

There's a green unpassable bush. Activate that bush to clear.
As for the sound, unfortunately no. Maybe I might fix that for the next version if people find it too annoying.

I'll keep this in mind in the future :D

There won't be as many scene hopping as compared to the prologue. But I'll keep this in mind next time.

Yep, they're Lunarea's tilesets.
I won't say I'm unsure in terms of plot execution. I think I did the buildup quite nicely. But then again, I haven't gotten a lot of feedback so I'll be interested to hear what people think about it.
I think you got a battle crashing bug. It's in the forest. crashed twice.
When that white hair girl walked up and asked to do battle (very out of the blue), it crashed again. They were all on different maps.
I guess this means despite crashing you're still able to carry on playing? Is the error something along the lines of game interpretor?
Another crash while fighting the bandits.
It said "RGSS3 has stopped working."
Then it was forced shut down.
I restarted the game. It didn't happen again, just like the last few times.
I see. I occasionally have this problem before a fight.
But this only happens in Prologue 1 for some reason.
Till today I haven't found a cause for it.
Stuck in a puzzle :(
In the Annabel cave with the 3 coloured switches to get the 3rd fiery essence.
I've been mashing the switches in random orders which seem to do nothing.
That sign with the 'observed so far; clue isn't a helpful clue :|

On a different topic. If I remember right, in the 1st court trial, the evidence before and after the question involving the 3 micro is different (only 3 micro same).

Based on the color of the switches you have activated so far. Are they red? ;)

Fixed it :D Thanks for telling me. I'll upload the fix sometime in the future since it is something pretty minor and it doesn't affect gameplay.
Still no luck :(
I've been smashing the red switch a million times. The switches just flip back up instantly doing nothing.
Are they bugged or something? What is meant to happen? I was really expecting monsters to appear when you hit the switches but nothing happens.

More minor bugs XD
The sign where Annabel talks to you can be repeated. So she talks again, without showing Annabel though. She is meant to be gone of course. Maybe she reappears as a ghost :P

I think you forgot the contents of the tablet XD. This is what it says when you read it the first time.

"So which switch will deactivate which twisted evil looking round thing?"

Basically when you activate the 'red' switch, it will cause one of those mines to be harmless.
To collect fiery essence from it, simply approach that harmless mine.

Noted. Thanks for telling me!
Hello again.

Made quite some progress. However a certain god was just too hard :(
Spent hours so gonna give up. Just can't kill quick enough.
Not sure if underleveled or underequipped. Was too poor to buy some of the later weapons :(
Time to restart and complete some of those quests I missed.

And to leave off with some bugs/issues I've noticed
1) talking to Maria, choosing the option 'let Damien say it' will repeat the conversation.
2) During solar inverse, doors still have Raven speaking even when he isn't there.
3) If you revisit Vallae's office, you see your team standing there.
4) Court trial 2, 3rd 'question' after save. Shows the 6 evidence for the next question instead. (I guessed many buttons until I hit the correct A :| )
5) Zombies freeze if you touch the door saying 'Mist Levinwing' in block B
6) Revisiting one of the towns, a Mayor suddenly gave me some evidence. Was told to talk to Rinne, but Rinne doesn't talk. Guess I missed something first time.
