AKARITHEPEANUT'S PROFILE

Hello, I´m writing this on 2022 February.

I am Akari the peanut. I love indie rpg games since many many years ago, I played them a lot. I wanted to contribute to them, so I started doing reviews for many other games, which was tiring but made me very happy.

I won´t be active here ´til new notice. I will connect sometimes to chat and read messages, but no more than it. Life, my friend. Life is what happens, and I am not the youth that played these games and wrote these reviews.

However, I am very very happy to have been actively in this community and helped it´s grow, no doubt. My time spent here was fruitful.

¿Do you know that this word means a lot from me? Fruitful. So many things I´ve been doing in former jobs and my actual job, in past relationships and friendships, that have had not even get close to the meaning these games offered me.

This was worth living.

Thank you. :)

5 Steps to Write Better Female Characters

That was a good read! I've thought before on most things you mentioned and there were also others I haven't realized, though mostly realized to shoujo manga and anime.

Watamote is a beautiful manga nowadays. Tomoko developed amazingly over five or six years and has become quite mature, it feels almost as watching a child grow, quite human as you said.

Ib, Mad Father, The Witch's House, Yume Nikki would also fit im those concepts? Well, Aya would may fit less.

I want to believe in Regina from Dino Crisis series as my strong woman model. She also havea serious objectives as you mentioned before.

Thanks for the article!

Distilled Opinions Review Jam

Woooow I was so close. Congratulations to the winners!!

Dhux's Scar Review

Damn I loved this game, it´s unique indeed. And close to the ending, some of the more hardcore bosses I´ve ever battled against...

those ones, damn. Most hardcore ever.

Crazy Rich Statisticians

This is the first time I've ever not gotten the joke in the title. Is there a movie called Crazy Rich? I feel so out of touch.
We are just all equally crazy rich here. We are drowning in makerscore.

Me too, I wonder if there´s a reference.

If only I could get one point for every time I procastinate instead of reviewing games

[DEV TOOL] Comprehensive List of Reviewers/Feedbackers/LPers/LTers/Play Testers/etc

Guess I´ll get into this too. Put me in reviews, general feedback and play testing. Must point that I´m into the psychological, adventure, fantasy, horror and mistery genres, so I´m unsure of offering quality information for other genres. I´ll write that on my profile just in case anyway.

Tell me more about Ib, Yume Nikki & my precious horror games

I would have to agree with Sooz, from what I have seen in the lets play videos of it Yume Nikki seems more like a Psychological game than a horror. It almost sounds as if you are trying to bind both genre's together.

I´m replying late, haven´t get into RMN for a while. I though about some weeks ago and I though you guys are right. You see, my first language is spanish, and in spanish-speaking game pages we kinda tend to blend together those. For example there´s this blog

http://indiehorrorrpg.blogspot.com/

The very url tells you all the games are horror, yet there are also psychological games. Translation problems I guess.

Having said that, I pointed to games that are psychological, horror-brushstroked)(part of the intro) which is to me the same you said, games like yume nikki that focus more on the psychological rather than horror genre.

Yes, maybe I tried to bind them, sorry for that.

It was super surprising to see so much chatter around Yume Nikki's recent anniversary and re-release.

Speaking about those re-releases, is Yume Nikki´s good in your opinion? When I saw the Mad Father one I was not satisfied. rather preferred an new edition for a different platform (saw only the trailer though, I´m the worst). Palette for example, was released for Play Station (sadly japan-only) and damn it was beautiful in the artistic sense. Same plot and game interface, but aesthetics made a big change.

glad I read this, what is that about a first-time "reminder"?? Or is the host company usually that irresponsable with notification e-mails

Game Update might be delayed... but for a good reason!

Hey pal! How are things going? I remembered something I wanted to say but ended up forgetting; Do you want to make the new version´s story mode as big as in the version I played? cause that is gonna be an awfully large job to develop if you want to go through all the levels intended

I was thinking on the experience that the game´s modes offers.

Like, how about a more small (hence kinda easy to explore) "dungeon" in story mode, that include town events as you pointed out, character´s history and other adventure rpg-like aspects --> that offers a mix of adventure-fantasy and dungeon gameplay

And then your classic mode displays a full dungeon experience, with large, randomized dungeons and challenging monsters to explore. So from my point of view it´s okay to make dungeons in story mode less large/complex on that sense.

I guess it would be like "story mode: for adventure players that want to get a good dungeon feeling" and "classic mode: do you dare exploring the depths of a real men, top-notch dungeon?"

And that also allows you have less work to do.

What do u think?
