Music is not there for the character to hear, but for the player to know the character's mental and emotional state. But unlike with the pain and the physical effort of game characters, experiencing their internal thoughts and feelings by the player is often the intended result. That's the immersion.

Personally, I'm pissy that the Featured Game isn't an RPG and is instead what would pass for a minigame in said genre... Although I'm sure it is a decent puzzler to have been made the Featured Game.
So you are saying that puzzles/platformers/shmups/etc. aside from RPG should never be featured and disregard their genre as a game? :/

Yes, let's ignore all good games that are not RPGs. No matter how good they are, they MUST NOT be featured.
