author=unityI suddenly do not envy anyone who gains any sort of precedence here.author=SatedYeah, if they disagree, that energy they spend arguing with the reviewer is almost always better spent writing their own review of the game.BizarreMonkeyGo and read any of the reviews I've written that have dished out a low score. Lots of people line up to review your review when you give a low score. I've been living off the tears generated for years.
Wait... so, a review was given for a review of a game...?
My favourites are when people don't seem to know what a review is:AnIdiot
I'm sorry but this review doesn't make any sense. This still looks like "I don't like it, that's why it sucks".
Or when people accuse you of lying for stating your opinion:AnotherIdiot
I had a good time with it, and great game or not great game, it's by no means half a star--claiming it thus seems disrespectful and dishonest.
Also here's a couple good ones.

I'm 99% sure you'd spontaneously combust if you tried to open RM2K3 to make a game
LibbyPersonal favourite.
sarcasm is over 9000!
InfectionFilesCouple from me too, ofcourse.
NO ONE gives a fuck about your weird games you theif
BizarreMonkey
It's no more shady than ripping shit from old NES games.
BizarreMonkey
Well if it makes you feel better I got banned on RMwebs again
BizarreMonkey
if your game has over 3000 downloads. That just tells me that the unenlightened masses here have a taste for shit.

I love how confident you are when attempting to express your entirely wrong opinions.

author=LibertyUm... you can literally do the exact same thing I did.
Wow, way to steal the graphics from MV before it got released. :/ Not gonna lie - a jerk move right there. Some of us have to actually wait before we get to show off our stuff, no matter how much it's killing us to do so.
author=LibertyWell if it makes you feel better I got banned on RMwebs again for (funnily enough, nothing related to doing that at all) publicly asking for penance.
But nope, sure, go steal the graphics out from the demo and use them. I'm sure the rest of us who have to wait won't mind you being an ass and doing that at all. /sarcasm is over 9000!
From what I can tell, there's nothing stopping you from doing exactly what I did, either. So don't try to tell me you or anybody else is at all inclined to wait.
Anyone can get those, it's literally just a bit of element inspecting and navigating HTML in the preorder demo. Hell, I'm a simpleton and I managed it.
It's no more shady than ripping shit from old NES games.
If it's your moral compass or your reputation with RMwebs and it's staff that holds you back, then those are your problems.
I said the tiles nor the weapon or icons were mine.
It's not stolen, hell I'd hardly call it leaked. I've also already pre-ordered MV, which might have made it stealing had I not.
author=Zeigfried_McBaconLol politics and my life as a game dev are rarely intermingled, if you mean RPGmakerWebs and their feeble and sorry efforts at bringing me down a peg, I can assure you I've done something that actually earned me those battles, not something petty and mildly inconvenient like this.
And its a wonder why you feel like companies are trying to take you down BM. the idiocy of it all.
author=InfectionFilesThief*. If you're going to take a shot at insulting me just to have it fail anyway, at least do it properly.
@BM- NO ONE gives a fuck about your weird games you theif
The fact you call my games weird just shows you understand enough about what I produce to know I don't cater to the conception of normality, and that's on purpose.
I make games because I like doing it, not to make money or gain reverence beyond what I can feasibly scrounge.
Honestly your whole statement seems to root from your own insecurities, as it's so obviously a shallow contrivance from an inferior desperate to offend.
But, what do I know?
I could say I personally don't give a fuck about your bland grey run-of-the-mill probably-has-zombies game called Infection either, but I don't need to resort to personal attacks to aggravate or upset people, I've literally ticked off two people with a single screenshot and I wasn't even trying.
And you should know that with one of my ego, such juvenile tactics don't work. Even if your game has over 3000 downloads. That just tells me that the unenlightened masses here have a taste for shit.
author=DookieYeah, it is quite cramped right now, not a fan of the sizes either, so it likely will go through some adjustments before I'm happy with it.
The HUD looks crammed and busy to me. I would consider redesigning it if that's just a mockup.
author=CashmereCatI should, it is homework, after all! I'm more or less obligated to!
@BizarreMonkey your black-and-white graphics are probably the best graphics I've ever seen you do. You tend to pack too much on the detail at times, but the restriction to black and white actually makes it look a lot more palatable. I hope you finish it.

Well just stating 'i used photoshop, gimp, timelinefx editor, paint tool sai, vegas pro' etc is easy, and serves as a note for your future self.

TPP could make fanwork illegal?
author=Feldschlacht IVNo.
Bizarremonkey, stop being so edgy.
Also, we do have one last chance.

author=CorfaisusI've no plans to reignite this, just wanna say that I'm not happy I have delved into it, but alien lands as they may be, the TPP effects everyone. It's Trans-pacific, yo!
I also find it rather funny that some disconnected Aussie git has so much to say about the workings of alien lands.
author=CorfaisusLast thing, I provided videos that provided source material about it, I'll link the leaked TPP bills too if I must. But I gather the reason you didn't find the points of itemization is because you didn't look/didn't want to know, if the latter, you could have really saved yourself a lot of stress and me a lot of insufferable posting by staying out of it.
I would appreciate it very much so if people would actually go out of their way to itemize their points of discussion instead of lumping it all together into one massive scary strawman
If the former, then here's an in-depth analysis on the TPP by Professor Jane Kelsey.
https://wikileaks.org/tpp-soe-minister/analysis/page-1.html
From the first bolded number 1, you can already see how dangerous this bill is.
It's not a tinfoil hat conspiracy, and if that doesn't prove it to you, then I don't know what will.
Also considering it's actually passed (it can't yet be enforced), that more or less makes it as real as SOPA and PIPA, only it wasn't shelved like it should have been.
What are you thinking about? (game development edition)
author=alteregoI usually include a section in my credits with "programs used". It's just a healthy practise to do, even if unnecessary. Means that you'd done right by everyone.
I've been messing around with a program called LabChirp, in my continuous quest for sound effects, and so far I've managed to create a few competent sound effects with it. But it got me thinking. Whenever I create graphics, I don't feel it's necessary to give credit to the programs I'm using. I know what I'm doing, and I could replicate that in any other program, or even any other medium. For example, I can do pixel art just as well in Paint than in Photoshop, so that has never been relevant to me.
But here, I feel like I'm just playing with pulleys and levers. So is any sound that I create really mine, or the program's? Who should take the credit? Should we credit the tools/brands we use for everything ever? =P
I even credit fonts.

@Sated: I will be adding more furniture, this is only the beginning. More characters and things are planned to.
Your map looks really cute and cozy.
Edit: Here's a mockup I did of what PFC may look like once it's over in MV.

To Clarify, I've got a V4 Bomb Glove, (New weapon type, rolling projectiles that explode on impact) V5 Shotgun, (What she's using, yes it will work a little differently) V3 Orbs, (Orbs of Annihilation, etc.) V4 Grenade, (Think The Zodiac) V2 Sniper (Think Lich Reaper), V1 Cleaver (Wartho'gs, for instance), V1 Disc (Black Death and Impetus under this weapon type), V3 Saber (New! Very fast combo weapon), V1 Lasher (Melee that launches multiple projectiles, Recusants Glaive is tied into this new weapon slot.) and Finally Ethereal Spears (Left clicking a tile launches a Spear down from the heavens onto that tile.)
I have 120 HP and 120 Rounds, I'm playing on "Prey" difficulty. On higher difficulties these will be 100 (Predator), 80 (Persistence) and then 50 (Perseverance).
Top row of 10 is the weapons, of course. The yellow bracket is the current selection (V5 Shotgun) which is made by scrolling the mouse-wheel. Below that is The Powerups row, it is simply the left and right arrow keys. Now that WASD is movement. Also likely I'll have the Up and Down arrow keys scroll through weapons, not everybody has a scroll wheel.
Q is to use selected powerup, Left click is to use selected weapon, right click is now shadowdash, all other controls are also listed. Middle click toggles direction lock.
Like usual, the portrait on the left is to show current character and also, like now characters will have different faces at low health, after acquiring a pick up, taking damage(it'll trigger during iframes.), etc.
It's also likely that in the future and icon will animated in this area above the face to show a powerup in use, the info of powerups will be displayed in the closet space (currently unimplemented) which is to the right of the playerHUD in the center, while Boss/Enemy HUDs will be on the far right.

author=SatedThanks for the advice! I see your points, so i will get right on that.
@BM:I honestly have no idea what is going on in that video/screenshot, so I'd consider making the objects larger and more detailed so that people can tell what they are a little easier. For example, that looks like it's supposed to be a grandfather clock, but grandfather clocks are usually taller than and about as wide as a normal person. The picture is another good example; that could be a lot bigger and could probably look a lot more like mountains.
I like puns.
Edit: And that should be better now.
