I'll likely be pulling all of my shit that isn't 100% self/company generated or paid for (RTP) if this bill passes.

I'm just hoping it won't. On Tuesday we'll know.

I think if Congress gets enough pressure from people they'll shelve it, alike they did SOPA, PIPA and ACTA. The TPP was a lot more secret and calculatingly manipulative... but thankfully Wikileaks is around so we do still have a chance to stop it.

And after those are shelved, I doubt they'll try anything like this again for a while. Honestly I'm hoping they will just give up, but... the greedy never sleep. Still, if we stop these we can stop the rest. This has been the most underhanded and deceitful attempt to tear away our rights that I've seen, should it fail, nothing else will have a chance to succeed.

Last week, WikiLeaks released the final text of the TPP’s intellectual property rights chapter and it is absolutely terrifying.

These are just a few of its most dangerous pieces:

Compel ISPs to take down websites without any sort of court order, just like SOPA. (Appendix Section I)

Extend the US’s copyright regime to require copyrights stand for life plus 70 years, preventing anyone from using works that belong in the public domain. (Article QQ.G.6)

Criminalize whistleblowing by extending trade secrets laws without any mandatory exemptions for whistleblowers or investigative journalists. (QQ.H.8)

End anonymity online by forcing every domain name to be associated with a real name and address. (Article QQ.C.12)

Make it illegal to unlock, modify, or generally tinker with a device you own. (Article QQ.G.10)

Export the US’s broken copyright policies to the rest of the world without expanding any of the free speech protections, like fair use. (Article QQ.G.17)

Well, I do use autoshadows, but they aren't auto, they are used constructively, see like here.

The Obelisk was moved, but them autoshadows (and pre-included tileset shadows) helped largely in the transition to darkness.

This one is probably the best example, though!

Now this isn't perfect, but it does seem clear that cheap flourescent lighting is coming from the right, just a little. This is sadly contradicted by the tiles. If I find time, I will make every map in this game an image instead.

My point is, shadow tiles and shadow tools aren't bad, pre-generated shadows are.

Anyway, the more I hear about TPP, the more I worry for the future of the Information Age.

While I don't think it'll instantly implode and take the entire western economy down with it, the language in the bill is there and it has the potential to ruin the internet, destroy creative enterprise and just overall make a huge mess of everything, eventually culminating in economic collapse due to shortsighted profit-grabbing. >_>

The economy isn't what I'm worried about being taken away, it's the rights of people.
