It was the only panorama I had available in the trial. :D

This is another VX map of mine. I again utilized the random dungeon generator, and then modified the hell out of it. Pretty fun map to make actually. I guess it's sort of a volcano sort of whacky place.

Golden Compass!

Eh, I wasn't all that impressed by the book. It was alright, but, not among my favorites or anything. It started out so good, but then the ship sank or something. That's just me, coming from someone who loves certain kids books.

Top Ten Topic: Books! (Fiction)

Oh man, Canuck, Franny and Zooey, The Zen, Hesse... Want to be friends? Good list. I haven't read them all, but it seems like you like a lot of the same shit. I haven't read that Hesse book, I've just read Siddhartha and some short story fables. But both are among my favorite books. I'm impressed that someone else has read something other than Catcher by Salinger.

I have yet to read all of Zen, I've been working my way through it for a while, it's not something you can read really fast. Damn interesting though.

Top Ten Topic: Books! (Fiction)

Hmm, I'll give this a shot:

5) The Road by Cormac McCarthey
4) Who Has Seen the Wind by W.O. Mitchell
3) Life Of Pi by Yann Martel
2) Catcher in the Rye/Franny and Zooey by JD Salinger (I can't really choose between those two)
1) The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

I uploaded one of my drum solos to YouTube

I think if you can play rockband drums on expert, you probably have the coordination needed to play drums. I could be wrong. Seems like that instrument resembles its real life counterpart the most.

Yes, Rock Band is awesome.

Yeah, this game is pretty wicked. I played this with a couple friends the other night, though we didn't have enough people for a vocalist. I was the drummer. I tried the other instruments, but the drums was the only fun one for me, where as everyone else was scared of sucking at it.

I really did suck at it. On "easy", I'd score about 80 for an average score. :P
But it was a lot of fun. It was easy to hit the right drums, but it was hard to get the timing right, and I noticed that if you knew the song decently it was much easier to play it by ear, than by watching the screen for the timing.

Oh, and the drum solos are a lot of fun! Sorta makes me want to take up drums, but I know I'd never any good at them. I don't have the coordination or sense of rhythm for it.

I think maybe next time I'll try out vocals.

Crafty inventions using the Wii controller

I don't know if anyone else has seen this or not. If you haven't, check it out:

They're videos of some dude who's done some real cool stuff with the wii. One example of an experiment he did was a 3D effect by wearing LED's on safety glasses. It produced a pretty neat virtual reality effect.

I don't know. I've never been one for long posts explaining anything at all. I don't really know what to say about it other than it's interesting, and you ought to check it out.

Christmas, how was yours?

It was really nice, we stayed at a hotel in the mountains and went skiing and hiking. And my mother cooked a fantastic turkey dinner in the hotel room. :)

Top Ten Topics: Christmas Gifts Given and Received

I'm going to break the rules a bit, because I don't really know how to rate anything. I'll just list everything.

Given
For Brother #1) I gave him a skateboard video called "Inhabitants". It's pretty wicked, and he likes it.
For Brother #2) I was stumped for ideas, so I got him a bottle of ameretto (spelling? it's almond liquor)
For the Mother) Again, I was kind of stumped, I got her some fancy wine glasses.
For the Father) I got him a double disc Traveling Wilburys CD.
For a friends: 1) Pitched 60$ in to buy a wii. 2) Iron and Wine CD. 3) Random books for the rest.

Recieved
I was extremely spoiled this year:
Parents - Winter Jacket (I still have to pick this out)
Parents - Beatles Anthology (This is wicked, it's about 12 hours long.)
Brother - Button up flannel shirt
Brother #2 - Skateboard deck (the brand is "chocolate")
Parents - Heart of Gold DVD (Neil Young documentary)
Friend - Flaming lips CD and Mario Galaxy for the wii
Other friends - Some random books, including a bob dylan biography which is pretty cool.

Of course there was some other stuff like chocolates and random stocking stuffers. In the stocking I got some wicked dish towels, and a dust pan.

Since this is a top ten topic, I'll tell about a gift that had nothing to do with me. It was from my dad to my mother. My mom is in love with horses, always has been. She owns two horses, so my dad had one my moms friend (who is an amazing painter) paint my mom's two horses. It cost him 700 dollars or something like that. But he did good, my mom loved it so much she was actually in tears. She said "Oh, how nice..." and then broke down crying. That's the happiest I've ever seen anyone about a christmas present I think, so, #1!
