Rpg Maker game tear-jerkers.

It sounds like you just haven't been playing good RM games.

I've played near all RM games that I could get my hands on, minus VX and XP to now, so you'll have to trust me when I say that there's never been a time when "Don't kill him." "I'm gonna kill him for my master!" "SAVE ME, BROTHER!" *unintentionally hilarious death* (even now, I'm laughing) "NOOOOUUURRGHHH!!" was justified. You find me a game that pulls of a death scene correctly and I'll play it.

When someone tries to be serious in an RM game, it actually might make me laugh anyway because of how satirically bad it is.

This I can agree with. Its like those games that some overconfident, soulless, maniacally-laughing douche comes in and destroys an entire village and makes the main character watch as he decapitates his little sister. Of course the hero goes "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", typically following a "Don't hurt her! For the love of GOD, don't hurt her, you lunatic!" "Grr, I hurt her because I'm teh EVIL!", but just how it goes about is so hilariously terrible that any attempt at inspiring a greater feeling of "I want to kick this guy so hard in the testes that it sends them rocketing through his spine, severing it." falls flat and kills the mood for the inevitable boss battle ahead.

Emotional Movies

This takes me back to the second time I watched Pokemon: The First Movie. Sure, at the theatre when Pikachu's teary-eyed mug hits the screen, I'm just sitting there watching while a roar of children's crying echoes up from the lower seats, but so help me when I watched it the first time I got home, that's when it hit me. I still remember walking to a corner in another room crying. My mother came in to comfort me, reminding me that Ash gets back up, but man I remember through my whimpers saying that Pikachu loved him so much and just yada-yada-BAWWW!

Reading over the TVTropes tearjerkers, I remember reading up on Mufasa's death from The Lion King and some of those moments in Pokemon, but for me those were more "sit still without a word" moments instead of "W-w-w-waaahh!!", kind of like the first episode when its storming and all those birds are flying at Pikachu because electric mice taste like chicken. Ash throws himself in front of the birds and that dramatic music plays. If you were young in the 90s you'd watch that moment and just pause.

The dumbest idea you ever tried to make

A game of tag for DoaDV. What's dumber yet is that I actually finished.

"Oh noes!" indeed.

I apologize that I said this project was on par with your other stuff. I do not apologize for saying this game sucks, though.
And for your information, I was born in '92, and remember stuff since '96.

I meant the earlier years of Rm*

Perhaps I should include "sad scenes that made you pause and reflect" to the thread, as those seem to be more common.

I don't think you quite understood the meaning behind this game, and I'm sorry that you weren't around in the earlier years. I've explained this at least once before and it even explains itself in the summary. I made this in maybe 3 hours on a warm summer's afternoon. It is intentionally terrible, as all true RM2kers first games were. Also, you were able to buy power-ups from the dog outside of the Dark Master's lair for the sake of making him ridiculously easy. It's sad if you think that this is somehow on-par with the rest of my work.

Funny story: The main reason I played this game was because it didn't have any reviews, and so I was going to review it. If it gets accepted, your game will have a star.

Hurray! One star.

I have a question: Is this game supposed to be retardedly easy? Because I found a chest that gave me 99999 gold, and the king in the first castle had an infinite supply of potions until I beat the monster in the first cave.

It's reminiscent of a time when chests contained that much and bugs ran rampant, so yes.
