Ace Attorney Games
I've played 4 of them.
The first one is definitely my favorite - best cases and characters, with less anime idiocy than in the sequels, best music. Miles's case was simply awesome. I have very fond memories of this game, unlike the sequels.
2 was... OK. Fan service level was rising, but it was still resonable. Psyche-lock was a useless addition, and marked the beginning of esoterism/parapsychology intrusion into a pretty normal world of 1. It made me enjoy the game much less than the original. Was this the one with the circus case? Or was it 3? Because that was the worst case of all I've played. Pure garbage.
3 was terrible. Fan service abound, cases were far-fetched and simply not engrossing. Characters... ugh, ANIME SHOCK! I -somehow- got to the last case and quit halfway through. Hasn't picked it up since.
I skipped Apollo Justice after seeing the cast and hobo Phoenix. And reading about the new and better psyche-lock... NOT.
Miles... is a very uneven game. On one hand it is more serious than AA (which i like after 2 and 3), and I must admit i like Miles more than Phoenix, on the other it lacks something. Cases are rather uninspired and there's just too much coincidence in each. Case 2 was very fun, Case 4 not so much (I'm at the beginning of the last one ATM). There's one aspect of the game that drives me nuts... FRANZISKA! I hate that stupid b***h so much it makes me want to turn off my DS every time she opens her mouth; and yet they decided to put her in almost every case. If only the wicked mind of the game's creator's never conceived her...
All in all the series suffers from the same disease pretty much every anime game series does - rampant fan service. There's only so many times I can bear seing the same secondary characters over and over and over again, in each and every episode. Wasn't Wendy Oldbag in ALL games? That's too much.
I wish I stopped at the original, skipped 2, 3, and 4, and picked up Investigations. Oh, and I'm not fan of anime humor, maybe that's why I don't "get" 2-4.

Staff Choice Awards 2009
I agree with most of the list, with the sole exception of Dhux's Scar. I found the game extremely juvenile and the humor felt very forced.
The Burning Grail
It was made for a contest, so no surprise it's a bit on the short side and not as polished as it could've been.
Still, a great game.
Still, a great game.
Starseed: Blood Machine
I chose a Templar and played for a bit, until the part where you fight a Medic Mech (?) which turned my BloodMachine (tm) into scrap, because after 2 fights in a row there was no repair station to heal my mech.
I must admit the customization's done great and seems to be the main hook, although balance between weapons could be better; I had to use the railgun twice on the first enemy to dispose of it, and could not equip a shield at the same time, which almost doubled the damage I received. In other words I received four times as much damage as when I used the simple machine gun+shield combo.
I didn't really enjoy the game - I had absolutely no options during the fights, which were in essence simple enterfests with repetitive animations and lots of text (do you really need to display damage info FIVE times when you shoot with a machine gun?). Enemies had a wide variety of weapons at their disposal, though - a railgun which does damage, and a machine gun which does damage, but it takes longer for the message to go away. Oh, and there was an EMP gun somewhere in there which raped me by paralyzing my only character. Wee!
I can't comment on the story as there's not much of it, until the segment where I died, at least. What I experienced I wouldn't describe as gripping, though. Point mech at evil corporation and watch fireworks. It's kinda transpostprehuman, but not really, with a handful of bad anime cliches thrown in for good measure (redneck teenage girl bumps into GODMECH's cockpit and becomes instant super mechpilot? Come on...). Oh well, it's just a demo, so maybe it does (would) get better. I still have that medbot to defeat.

[Recruitment] Thank you sir, may I have some respectable colleagues?
Wow, a guy who has made more than 12 games seeks to form a team to make even more games, and you feel a need to go out and ridicule him for it.
Takes me back to the Iron Gaia 2 topic back at GW. Those must've been your favorite times, eh? When a bunch of "amateur game making "celebrities"" sat around doing nothing and only rearing their heads when opportunities for shitting on those silly people making "gaems" arose. Good times.

Boss Project III
BOSS PROJECT 3 Boss guide
For easy reference I'll give each character a nickname.
Valcon: Knight
Renton: Mage
Alicia: Cleric
Kira: Ninja
One more thing: if I tell you to slow a boss down, then do it ASAP! It fades away after a few turns, so once you notice there's no message when targetting the boss recast Slow immediately. Slow spells: Darkness Wave (all enemies), Slow Down, Smoke Bomb.
Unlike in Boss Project 1, you have plenty of items. Still, it may be wise to absorb MP from the enemy if your mage has nothing better to do.
JO
Start by slowing him down when he turns into his Demon form. Knight can do it with one of his skills; later on he can attack physically (don't waste MP). Cleric does nothing except healing, Mage casts any offensive spell, and Ninja throws Ninja Stars or Toxic Shurikens and throws a Smoke Bomb when Slow ends. Jo is very easy.
SHADOW MASTER and his legion of pet shadows
Ignore any monsters he summons. It seems he is resistant to all status ailments except Weak, so just attack him with all you've got; he is equally vulnerable to all elements. You can try to Weaken him, but I'm not sure if it has any effect on the power of his attacks (God bless DBS!). He is pretty straigthforward, and if he Bikills and/or Rages Knight, he is practically dead. Another easy boss.
RIFFELATOR AND RIFFLES
Riffelator has Magic of Invincible Body (tm) - ignore him and focus on Riffles. Slow them both, and you can even try casting Sleep on Riffles as he is not immune to it. Attack with any magic with Mage, throw Ninja Stars with Ninja, heal status effects with items. That's it.
CORBENIK TWINS
Here's the deal: C Physical (the red one) is immune to and attacks with physical attacks. C Magical (the blue one) is exactly the same, only substitute "physical" with "magical". They're both vulnerable to Slow, so slow them down with Knight. Just as what scan suggests, kill C Magical first. Simply attack him with Knight (normal attack) and Ninja (Stars), and let your mages heal. Once he's down, switch to magical attacks and get rid of C Physical. Strangely enough Shurikens do work against him.
Note: C Magical can alter the field, resulting in anti-magic barrier (among others effects, I think), but every time I fought him he didn't get the chance to cast that spell.
HEPTOPUS and his children
Slowdown time! Slow them all with Darkness Wave. You're going to have to kill 3 of the little buggers, leave one alive, and pummel Heptopus. Start with the green one, but remember he absorbs all magic, so use physical attacks instead. Next kill the yellow one, and finally the blue one (lower-right). Those two are not impervious to magic. Neither is Heptopus, and he should go down with no problem. Just don't touch the last helper! Once he bites the dust, remove the helper with magic.
FINAL BOSS
KEFKA! we meet again...
He's immune to all status ailments, so don't bother. The battle's pretty straightforward - attack with all you've got, remove ailments and revive with items, heal with Heal V for Regen, or Cure VI for single party member healing. There's no real strategy to this fight. He's got 99999 HP, so it may take a while.

GAME IS END!
BP 3 was A LOT easier than the first game, and I question the choice of changing the DBS pattern, but all in all it was pretty fun. Onto Boss Project 4: The Destruction of Jared-Syn!

The Boss Project
The Boss Project
After reading Max's review I set off on my greatest adveture yet. A challenge worthy of RPG Maker gods. To beat all of the Boss Projects... AND write simple walkthroughs for each. I don't know if I'm strong enough to prevail, but one step has already been taken. Here's a guide to whipping Chaos's behind. It took me about 1 hour to beat the game for the first time and write the walkthrough.
BEELZEBUB + DARK SOUL
Cast Slow on Beelzebub, Haste on Cleric, Attack Up on Fighter (you can skip this, actually). Red can then cast Regen on Cleric and possibly other party members, but it's not necessary. Ignore Beelzebub, he cannot be killed. Mage casts Blizard Star on Dark soul, Cleric heals party when necessary with Array of Healing, and steals MP from Dark Soul with MP Dissolve. Fighter attacks Dark Soul. Red... picks his nose.
LORD
Ignore Death Tokens, they cannot be killed. Cast Haste/use Fast Token on Cleric and then everyone else (if you want to conserve it then don't use it on Red and possibly Fighter). Cleric absorbs MP, heals any wounded party members, and casts Holy Blast whenever possible. Mage casts a spell of your choice (they are all equally effective). Fighter uses offensive Tokens (once again, of your choice). Red does whatever, it doesn't really matter as he won't contribute much; you can have him use Tokens to speed things up. This battle is all about luck, really; if he opens with the 7-hit combo and kills any character, you can as well not bother and reload. At times he can cast two Stops in a row and miss with both or use weak Bombardment, which makes the fight much, much easier,. So don't hesitate to reset if he seems to completely overpower the party. By the way, you only have about six turns to get him (one Death Token signifies one turn), else it's instant game over.
DARK KNIGHT
Ignore the Body. Cast Slow on God Sword. Haste Cleric; the Head will sometimes remove it, recast it immediately. Cleric does the usual: MP Dissolve, heal party, Holy Blast the Head whenever possible. Fighter uses any Token on the Head, conserve Blizzard Tokens, though. Once the Head is dead, attack the Body using the same tactics; you can freely Haste everyone now. It is weak to Ice, so use Blizzard Tokens and ice spells. He will go down quick.
CHAOS and friends
You can Slow Dark Face and Stave. Do the usual (Haste on Cleric and everyone else, MP Dissolve, heal, Holy Blast, Mage casts any spell, Fighter uses Tokens). Focus on either Stave or Face, and once you are finished kill the other. Use healing items with Red or Fighter if necessary, Cleric should be casting Blast as often as possible. Clear status anomalies with items. Slow and destroy Face Gift once it appears. Ignore Tentacle, and blast Chaos away. Once he loses about 50% of his HP he will gain speed and start casting powerful magic. Heal and revive with items and use offensive spells (Cleric, Mage) or tokens (Fighter, Red) with everyone. He will go down eventually.
