Cats tend to assume we're incapable of feeding ourselves (which amounts to hunting, basically) and try to teach us how they'd been taught/taught their kittens. Which means catching 'food' and giving it to us as a way to show us 'this is food, giant kitten'. If it's still alive you've graduated past the 'little baby' stage to 'going to learn how to hunt or by god I will keep dropping these things on you, giant stupid kitten' stage.
I could totally see Katt (or any catgirl) doing this. Then having to explain to stupid human about cat culture. >.> Interesting idea for a game; My Life with a Cat Girl. (Non-lewd version)
Our cats caught everything under the sun, bushes, brambles, and trees. One day a vole, another a half eaten snek. Some days we even got multiple presents. >.> Kitties were fatting us up so we would be a bigger, warmer lap to sleep on. Kittyspiracy!

It's supposed to be something of a marsh/swamp/fen - water-based intertwinning rivers. It might be a bit much though. XD
Some wetlands are actually like that, but its hard to convey on sprite maps. *Lives near wetlands, watch feet in woods or go sploosh.*
Maybe add some big ol' weeping willows, marsh reeds, and so many frogs...It might help people who don't know wetlands to identify it better. Not sure if anyone has made any weeping willows/marsh trees tho.
To make players see the map again, just make them get on the boat! Boat travel to Swamptown 50g, meals included. >.> The carrot would be treasure, monster hunts, or hidden quest.
