Don't worry about my 800x600 woes. It's the price to pay for using antiquated hardware. My video card is having trouble with the new codecs and even gets beat up by large XP/VX maps. I think I'm long overdue for the Windows XP pinch too.

Comedy Games
What's with all the "comedy is hard to pull off" talk?
All I do is think of games like Legend of the Mystical Ninja or Zombies Ate My Neighbours orSakusaku Daigoutou Returns Metal Slug. Inspiration immediately comes to mind.

Strategy RPG Game Idea
Try using this game as a reference point.
TBS isn't hard to do in RM2k/2k3. It'll just be a gaggle of sphagetti code if you don't plan ahead. I've envisioned a couple of projects that are quite doable in 2k3, but I keep hitting roadblocks like complex pathfinding algos and variable limitations (yes, 5000 is not enough. And I've already considered combining 2 or 3 into 1 (eg. 923414 is 92, 34, and 14).

The RTP trees really don't fit with the other two plants.
Also, it's very samey. You need to cut down the number of plants in favor of other doodads (rocks, crevasses, logs, etc) or just more plant variety.
