It's quaint to see that a bunch of "scholars" rank Obama 15th out of 44.
I was referring to the numbers from dozens of various studies, all conveniently collected on a wikipedia page. Keep in mind that his term isn't over yet, and things are continuing to get worse. So much for 'bunk'.

Also, because you're "not as invested or knowledgeable in US politics" as you claim you ought to be, you're probably missing all the highlights of Obama's career. He's been aptly nicknamed "the Caveman" because he caves in to everything. Not much of a leader. Except when it comes to declaring new wars without congressional approval.

The opposite of Austerity (in this context) is reckless spending. Reckless spending not good. Reckless spending + China stop buying bonds = bankrupt -> there's your napoleon/hitler situation.

That's an overly simple way of looking at it :\ If by austerity, you mean stopping the wars and closing a buttload of military bases, then yeah. You're dead on.
But destroying the social underclass via social security cuts and the cutting of welfare programs that people have (unfortunately) become dependant on while propping up failed, bankrupt institutions (most of Wall St), not so much. You will never get out of depression in that situation. In comes Hitler.

Also, an update : China buys less than 13% of all US bonds. They've already all but stopped buying them. Japan and a few others are in the 1% or less range. The Fed monetizes the rest.
