United States Navy. Best decision I ever made.
Is this a fairly accurate depiction of the navy?

Multiple Antagonists

Rivalry is a bad example because the conflict is more Man vs Self. The rival is there to provide a progress barometer. The 'antagonist' is the hero's own innate resistance to push his limits and better himself (corny as it sounds). It can also be assumed the rival is going through the same struggle.
If the rival stays on par with the hero then nothing changes and the game ends with "I won because I ate Wheaties". If something happens and he leaps several tiers ahead in power, he leaves rival realm and approaches big bad guy status (even though his motives may not be bad).

In hindsight, my invoking of the 'Big Bad' trope is wrong. I only meant the overreaching, all-powerful characteristics. Not the parts where everything bad is his doing.

Multiple Antagonists

I think we can all agree on one thing : Single antagonist is little more than The Dark King, no matter how much window dressing you add.
If this is true, then by extension, multiple antagonists are little more than multiple The Dark Kings.

Multiple antagonist allows the antagonists to play off against each other, in alliance or rivalry, and create more depth in the storyline. Even the most basic "I'm not the true boss. He is" adds an extra layer (though thin).
Single antagonist, no matter what justification you give him, becomes the Big Bad trope in very short order. Multiple-angle conflict is then delegated to his henchmen or one-shots (like Bikke the Pirate) while he remains untouched and unassailable until the very end.

This is all assuming we're talking about Man vs Man. Not Society, Self or Nature.

What's your job ?

Engineer.
I won't say what type of Engineer because all the other engineers will scoff and laugh at me D;
I'm also heavily involved in the stock market and would like to retire in a few years, as in leave the 9-to-5 rat race.

Working on custom tile sets.

oooh. Much better looking.

Biggest 'Doh' moments of your life.

I almost kicked a baby once.
It was Halloween and I went to my usual small town diner to get a coffee and donut. Lots of people were there all dressed up. Somebody's little 2 year old was walking around dressed as a brown bear. Being so tall, and not one to look down at my feet, I thought "What's this box doing in the middle of the floor?" and almost kicked it aside.
Thankfully and double thankfully, I thought to myself "better not kick someone else's box" THEN looked down. I don't think I ever would have lived it down.

Religion in games

author=harmonic
I think it has enormous potential. Organized religion is one of the most dynamic and interesting aspects of human culture in my opinion. Speaks volumes about our behavior and tendencies, and the pageantry and traditions involved in a powerful religious entity makes for great storylines and world settings. Clergymen are basically just like politicians, but with a cult flavor added in. Just makes for delicious potential characters.

^That.

Organized religions are institutions just like any other and are prone to the same vulnerabilities as a government, large business, or other established community (eg. artists and scientists). Good, well meaning people rise to some level in the institution and are happy to just coast. Scummy, narcissistic individuals will make alliances and backstab in order to climb the ladder and garner wealth/power. As a result, religions are filled with good people out to help one and all, but eventually too many bad apples get on top and so begins the Evil Conspirator trope.

Interesting.
Also, I just noticed it. There's a helicopter parked in the bottom right :D Badass.

Happy 'America'…something, Independence Day...Whatever! :D
