Dragon Fantasy

Always a possibility! I wish I'd been the one to commercialize the name and game... but oh well. I'm sure that, if I ever do want to make a commercial game with original resources, etc. that I'll be able to pull something from the DF universe and utilize that to make a decent name. Until that time, Dragon Fantasy shall march on!

Dragon Fantasy

The more time that passes, the greater the regret I feel for naming the series "Dragon Fantasy" and not something even a REMOTELY BIT ORIGINAL! If I google the name, all I usually see are articles and images related to that commercial indie RPG with the same name. Regardless, what's done is done, and if I up and change it NOW--all of a sudden and out of the blue--people probably won't associate those games with being in this series. Quite a dilemma! Hahahaha.

Anyway, that has absolutely nothing to do with your comment, but I was in the ranting mood, so I just had to get that out of my system. But seriously, what could you have expected from my 15~ year old mind? The original game is actually much older than the completion date implies, because this game is ALSO a remake (thus "Dragon Fantasy: The Remake" being the game's official title). The original was much worse, and was created when I first discovered RPG maker and got hold of a few NES chipsets 2 or so years before I started working on this game.

I'm glad you think so highly of this game! You're not the first person to replay one of my games more than they would a high-budget commercial game, and that just makes me feel totally awesome. DF definitely shows its age, though, and unlike most other people, when I go through it again I just see a list of things that I did terribly or could vastly improve upon! With DFR, I'm trying to keep as much of the original game in tact as I can while also making it a greater overall experience.

While a review would've been appreciated, I think something like that would benefit one of the two games you referenced (DFR or HOT) more than it would this relic hahaha.

Chronicles of Tsufanubra

Nah, I knew he' pull through sooner or later. Granted, I WAS starting to run out of interesting things to watch... hahahaha.

He's also finally moving into the interesting part of the game with a (soon to be) full party! Yee-haw. Can't wait for the next set of videos! I just want to get some opinions on how the Borez region turned out.

Chronicles of Tsufanubra

And I can't wait to actually get it finished! Well, I guess I CAN wait when you consider the terrible and godawful pace I've been going for the past few months. It seems like whenever I get a drive to actually work on the project, SOMEONE drops by or something happens, etc. The last two months in particular have been especially busy in terms of doing non-rpgmaker related things when I get off work/have free time.

Chronicles of Tsufanubra

Ah, okay, so it turns out that (for one reason or another) I copy and pasted the event commands for the middle and the guard to the right TWICE, resulting in the event repeating its self.

To quote the comment I posted on the video its self:

"Darn, I really was hoping that I'd caught most of the bugs, but that last one was something that I'd never anticipated happening! That's why it's always good to have someone other than yourself (preferably multiple other people) play your game first; they do and see things that you might not!

That first bug, though... man, I've NEVER encountered that before! I'm definitely going to go in there and poke around to see what exactly has caused that weird error to occur.

Thanks for stumbling upon these things and pointing them out, Mr. Magic! I appreciate your decision to continue LPing this game, and look forward to Part 4!"

EDIT:
I've also gone ahead and fixed up the two major bugs and updated the demo download!

Chronicles of Tsufanubra

You're saying I went semicolon happy?! Actually, that's a probably the case, but I also can't remember if I had anyone else look it over after receiving it from Desertopa, either... Soooo I'll take the blame! It shall be fixed!

The rest is as Mr. Topa says. The beginning sets things up in a way that makes the player THINK that they know how it's all going to unfold, but that's exactly why we dumped all of the "you must save the world and the crystals!" stuff on the player at the start.

Chronicles of Tsufanubra

Thanks for deciding to start this, man! I appreciate the time and effort you're putting in to making this. I left a more in-depth comment on the video its self.

Yellow Magic wants to LP your games

I don't know if you're still doing this or have just lost interest, but I'm still leaving this here JUST INCASE! It'd be wonderful to see someone play and give feedback on the Dragon Fantasy REMADE demo that I've recently released.

DFR Gamepage

Chronicles of Tsufanubra

Thanks, my man! I'm hoping to hear back from my downloaders whenever someone maes decent progress, because I can GUARANTEE that there's at least a handfuul o things that need changing. Is it too easy, or too hard? Is the equipment unbalanced? Etc.

Dragon Fantasy REMADE Demo (Updated Apr. 28, 2015)

Not to needlessly bump this profile, but this is just to notify everyone that the demo has been UPDATED today (Feb. 3rd/15) and that there should be no more problems. What I fixed wasn't game-breaking, but those errors certainly sucked a little bit of life out of the game.

Anyway, carry on! I apologize for not remembering those small things earlier, so sorry to inconvenience the 10 or so of you who've already downloaded the demo. =P

AND EVEN THAT VERSION WAS LACKING A BOSS FIGHT. Alrighty, it's fairly evident that I'm not meant to be releasing stuff like this, because I'm no good at remembering what I changed around for testing purposes. The reason some of the bosses are missing is because it's ridiculously annoying the play-test a scene a thousand times while having to fight the boss again and again, etc.

*UPDATED AGAIN.*

Please don't hurt me! *Begs*
