Guess that game!

author=Liberty
Nope to all! ^.^

It is a rather obscure game and I am being obscure with my clue, so DOUBLE OBSCURITY!

I'm not sure it would qualify as obscure, but... Braid?

UPDATE 5: Greetings from Final 10% Purgatory

author=Dyhalto
Will it have H-scenes?

author=mellytan
yes. lots and lots of lo-res 80s anime style h-scenes . your score at the end depends on how many characters you can get naked

I knew it. The roll and crumpled pieces of toilet paper on top of the desk were a dead giveaway.

Dhux's Scar

Sounds like everything worked just fine and then the program stopped recognizing battle animations for some reason. I honestly have no idea what could have caused this. You could re-download the game and use your old save files to resume your playthrough. I can't guarantee it will fix the issue, but it might be worth trying.

Dhux's Scar

After looking at some of the files (and not touching any of them), I noticed some of the files from the battle folder aren't working. Omegaport doesn't work, and neither does battle begin, I just get an error message stating that it 'couldn't find the file Omegaport' or something of the like. I've tried various things to help (probably none of which make any sense since I'm not too familiar with RMK), but to no avail. Any suggestions?

At what point in the game do you get these error messages? If there is an error related to the battlebegin file, you probably can't even get past the first battle, so you shouldn't be able to progress to the location where the omegaport animation is used (the last dungeon)

Have you had similar problems with other rm2k games, or just this one?

Also, all the tilesets in Dhux's Scar are custom? :O I'll be keeping you in mind.

Nope, just some of them (most are RTP edits). The few custom ones were a pain to make, regardless.

I was kind of stubbornly trying to ignore it, but the direction thing is actually bothering me. I think I'll fix it after all, even though it will be a huge pain in the rear end.

Like, really huge. Burn-out inducing, motivation-killing huge. Oh God I'm never getting this thing done am I.

(Ok, it can't be that hard, I'm just being a giant wuss)

I think this is a charming idea! Any plans to change the background as you chug along?
Thank you! I thought about making a scrolling background to add to the illusion of movement, but I kind of like how the static one lends itself to an almost seamless battle transition (besides, this wouldn't be a glorified lazy workaround if I actually had to put effort into it!). There are different backgrounds for different areas within the same dungeon, but... not a lot of them (two or three at most).

One minor suggestion though: with the Essence purifier thing, since it seems like you will eventually want to drain it and gather all the essence, maybe make an option to gather the remaining essence? Just a thought...
Yeah, that needs to be a thing. Thanks for pointing it out.

Ah, so Clement IS a guy and not a girl-in-disguise.
Previous art I've seen of him is very effeminate.

He is still supposed to look very effeminate, just not as much as in the original draft.

RPG Maker VX Ace

Will this be an add-on to VX or a whole new editor?
From what I've read it will be an add-on.

Enterbrain doesn't strike me as the sort to make add-ons. Releasing a full-priced, near identical version of an older program with a few extra features tacked on is more in line with what I'd expect from them.

Still, I can't help being excited about this! New PC RPG Maker! Wheeeee!

hmm, have you ever considered using another font?

Not until you mentioned it, but yeah, Arial (is that Arial? I think it is) is pretty bland, and not all that suited for the fantasy pastiche I have going on here. I'll at least change the font used for character names in conversations. It sticks out like a sore thumb.
