Stats in RMXP.
Thanks for clearing that up Crystalgate :) I never actually went through the battle formulas or looked at the stats in specific, so I just went with my best judgement on that. I'm glad that you knew what you were talking about :)
Stats in RMXP.
First off, ATK and STR are not the same thing. ATK is the base amount of damage dealt by a character, this is entirely dependant on what they have equipped as a weapon, or any status changes that boost their ATK (Such as Sharp in the default). STR is a character's strength, and it is used to increase the amount of damage dealt by a weapon or skill that uses STR. At the bottom of weapon(I think weapons, I might be wrong. In which case, weapon damage is entirely boosted by the character's STR) and skill panels, you will see Parameters regarding that particular action. If you set STR to 100, it means that 100% of the character's STR is boosting the damage dealt to the enemy. This is part of the RMXP battle formulas, and the damage is then reduced by an enemy's defence. In the short run, STR is a stat given to the character as they gain levels, which influences how much damage they deal when attacking. The base damage they deal is a weapon's ATK (Not exactly, there are a few multipliers in the formula but I can't think of them off the top of my head).
As for PDEF, MDEF, and DEX: PDEF and MDEF can only be given to a character by equipment. PDEF stands for Physical Defense, and MDEF for Magical Defense. They do not give bonuses to DEX and AGI, but rather they reduce the damage that the character or enemy can take from physical or magical weapons and skills. DEX is different altogether, although I often get it confused with AGI. One of the two determines the chance of a character dodging an attack (That is non-magical), and the other determines the order in which the characters and enemies fight in during battle. Yes, if a character has no armor equipped, and their weapon gives no PDEF or MDEF bonus, then they are defenseless and will take full damage from everything.
Here's a hint for how I make ATK PDEF and MDEF work to balance battles out: If you give characters high HP (Over time) and the monsters much higher HP as they get harder, than you can give the characters large attack on their weapons, and the enemies incredibly small PDEF and MDEF so that your characters deal a lot of damage. Play around with the numbers until you get something that works for you, and I hope this helped!

RMN Battledome - Battle Time!
What are your favorite mutations and why?
I'll download 0.3, I was playing 0.1 when I ran into the rat problem :)
Glad I could help, I really do find it the best mutation and I figured it should get credit where credit is due.

Favorite mutation? Um... that would have to be... Radiation. A few times now it's saved me from getting poisoned in areas, and allowed me to explore them more for really useful items. But the reason I love it the most? Harmful Gas. Killing everything, or poisoning it, in one blow is sooo useful. Too bad it requires a lot of energy. That skill saved me from the killing all of its companions and poisoning it. Of course, I still died, but it took much longer :). In the future? I guess making more creature weak to poison, and having poison be more active. It isn't really clear if it deals damage or not the way it's done now.
huge mutant rat thing
Well, this stinks
Oh, of course I will! That could be really fun to do, and a great way to take my mind off of everything. Sorry for the struggle with my comprehension, I'll definitely compile some notes.

Thanks guys :) Marrend, I hope that it will get up on RMN! It would be good for me to get something done and out in public to boost my spirits. I'll definitely keep in touch, and I'll post a blog regarding the therapy game when it goes up. Hopefully, I'll have the spirits to return to workng on this soon...
Well, this stinks
It's not that major, thanks :).
And yeah, I learned my lesson the hard way 'bout backing stuff up...

The Master of Souls
I'm so glad you enjoyed it fanatik! Domrob and I worked really hard on those first two acts (Yeah the Wydae glitch needs some work) :) Act III has come to a slow start due to some real life stuff, but I just started to pick up the pace at the beginning of this week. We hope it will be finished by around October, but no promises yet :)
