My name's Kasey Ozymy. I'm a game designer from Texas. I made Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass and am currently working on Hymn to the Earless God.

[Release Something! Day XIII] Feedback Thread
@Addit: That's pretty impressive, man. Are you using pictures for every number/letter or can you actually output text for that version of RPG Maker?
@Luchino: I'm not sure when you switched to the larger-style sprite, but it looks pretty rad--really reminiscent of Phantasy Star's sprites. Your mapping always looks stellar.

Can't get CSS to work
Release Something XIII: Something Returns
So I submitted my game page last night.
Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass
Also because I have an embarrassment of riches, here's a song I just uploaded for it:
You can find more music for Jimmy by checking out the music section on the game page.

What does your writing style say about your personality?
"When does this get good?"
I've heard that 5 has the best story, too, but I don't think Dragon Quests really have notable stories. 5 has a subversion of a major RPG trope, which is why I think it gets classified as having the best story, but as far as "good writing" is concerned, subverting tropes is the easiest, most obvious thing you should do in writing, and it's not even really that interesting, frankly. To answer your question, the point is to kill the demon king, which is the point of every Dragon Quest; there's just more buildup leading into that.
I think that 7 has the best story in terms of the central premise and world. 8 has the best story in terms of writing relatable characters. 7's my favorite overall (I've only played the first 8), both from a gameplay and writing perspective. The story's pretty stripped back like every Dragon Quest, but there's a great sense of mystery built into the central premise that works really well for me. People often say that 7 has the best NPCs, which I guess is true, but their individual stories didn't stick with me that well.

So, the new Ghostbusters movie... no, not that all girl one. The other one. Yes, you heard me right.
I didn't see Ghostbusters until I was older, so maybe it's just me, but I don't see why they were so popular. Any remake of the franchise seems like a bad idea, let alone two. Actually, fuck remakes in general. Give me new stuff to like.
Some analysis on Earthbound's opening
The title screen is pretty clearly evoking 50s sci-fi, which Earthbound draws from a great deal throughout the game.
Every Final Fantasy Fan should see this Video
Thanks for this! That interview was pretty interesting. I was hoping to see him talk more on the future of RPGs as he sees it, but all we got was a brief mention of cell phone games. The history aspect was great, though.
Release Something XIII: Something Returns
I'll probably release a slew of screenshots and maybe some music on the project I've been working on. I've been meaning to set up a game page and tumblr for it, but advertising is such a drag. It's a bunch of work that doesn't make the game developed any faster, but, yeah. Maybe this is the push I need to actually do that.
