Oh yeah, one thing I realized --
Probably whomever gets to finish my first half should have Luna Engine, as I'm using it D:
If I wind up with someone who doesn't I suppose I could last minute remove it though but I made a custom menu for this project already fOR SomE REasON

No need to be so strict I think, but then again if everyone thinks like that you might as well start your build for the swap in the middle 3 now...

I... Did, it was long ago, and it was probably something very embarassing. I don't remember it at all, though, but I'm looking forward to the stories lol.

[RMMV] Is it possible to have this type of EXP gain?

This isn't actually a different type of EXP gain than RM's default, both track total exp earned and level you up according to an EXP table -- The difference is how that information is displayed to the player. On RPG Maker the player sees how much EXP they have and how much they need to have to level up, while this subtracts the former from the latter and displays the resulting number to the player.
This is very easy to do with scripts (sans the rolling updates per frame which shouldn't be hard but I don't know how to) and IF you're already making a fully custom menu system, it would be simple to do on events, too.

But mainly I wouldn't bother, it's purely visual and impacts nothing, I'd focus on finishing a game first and then having this as a feature you may want to request to improve your (finished) game later on lol, since it's a very small thing.

I think I'm getting slightly attached to my first half LOL. But like, in a funny way. The intro is pretty much a retelling of me and my friends on an afternoon in our apartment / our last vacation, and our "game selves" waking up in a fantasy / digital / game / spiritual / whatever the 2nd dev wants world. How the rest of the game will roll is up to them, i'll now get the assets polished and work on a bunch of assets and disjointed locations that they'll hopefully have a fun time knitting together and deciding what sort of world they fell in lol

i'm slightly insecure about this this will be fun


also the intro / opening is mostly done in a drawn cutscene format in a different style from the rest of the game (to signify the distinction between "our" world and the game) (and as an excuse to use handdrawn cutscenes in a game where the second person may not be able to do that)

i actually have a WAY easier time just drawing things than eventing complex plays and routines for the characters lol. i hatehatehate eventing big sprite-based cutscenes :V

also also, the fun thing about it is seeing how the second dev will interprete the hints of personality from the opening cutscene and develop these characters which, despite being based on real people, are individual characters who will develop outside of my interpretative environment which will be real amusing to watch lol

i'm very hype for this

and i also am excited to get the second half dsfajkfdvfnjdfbjfga i always wanted to tinker with someone's game use my jo-ray on it to turn it into a buggy messy pile of grinding and show pictures

Looks so awesome, I enjoyed the demo! The interface is very clunky though, although the 90s thing is gorgeous to my eyes (love the windows xp / rm2k-esque menus) the obscurity of it all and lack of context info is aggravating

the GAME engine itself seems super sturdy! I saw javascript, immediately thought of MV and went YIKES NOPE. but no, it runs so clean and light!

Now now, it totally needs plugins to remove the battle scenes and make it more final fantasy tactics-like, then it'd be perfect for me lol

Not ISO, of course (that'd be sweet too) just... allowing the battle to happen quickly and entirely on the map.
Although I figure a mode-7 like Soul Nomad wouldn't be hard to make, and would be pretty cool XD

I am extremely scared of participating in events because I don't trust myself but... I also find myself often sparking so many ideas from other people's projects, I can't help but think this should be nice. Plus, I'm both collaborating and working alone... and working on TWO games! This should be nice.

But................... like i always say.........................................................................

Something like the Swap in the Middle with You event, except everyone gets to pick from the same 3 first halves and is encouraged to change as much as possible.

Probably the first round would involve peopl voting for the top 3 first halves (is that even feasible though) then the second round would have people pick which one they liked better to work on, and we'd have so many different iterations and different blooms of the same original concepts, it's like playing "what would have been if I did accept that job offer when I was seventeen"
