Exactly, poopy kids will still upload their shitty parody game if it costs 5000USD to do so, they can just ask their daddies ;u;)
butttttttttttttttttttttttttttt serious devs who happen to not be as fortunate or are creating niche content to small audiences will be completely fucked over
that sounds counterproductive, but then again, having valve invest the manpower to actually assess entry into the steam store a bit more rigidly would incur costs that would not justify passing a game that makes 2000USD in their lifetime maybe?
Steam stays with 30% of that I think, so that's 600USD valve gets. Out of that they'd have to pay salaries for the curators for all games, so that would too prevent niche / stuff with low profitability but good quality from happening I think

This... Feels kinda odd. I don't know, just pay a fee and you're there? I feel it's gonna be a lot harder to stand out no matter if your game is quality, not because there's more competition but just because there's more stuff overall.

And I don't think this heightening in price, even if it is $500, will prevent people from doing it. I mean, it's gamers. Also lots of rich people with rich daddies' credit cards. Even setting it at $5000 wouldn't stop it.

So IDK. Kind of an odd choice.

I like Square Enix Collective.

Hmmm cute, but... Maybe you would benefit of using a lower resolution... I mean I ALWAYS say that but it's so much easier to make graphics with 16x16 tiles than it is with 48x48 XD

They're acquainted with Horror RPG Maker games mostly, which seem to be very popular around here!

No honestly I love horror games but I have a scorching, consuming hatred for "RM horror games" just because t hey hide actual RM gems like Paradise Blue, Hero's Real, Blackmoon Prophecy, Beautiful Escape, Rubi and so on >:^C

I miss them! Most I've seen on RMN's community page aren't even RPG Maker tho, like LGD which is unity or Shadows of Adam which is a custom engine I think :/

I wonder if people are feeling intimidated or something?
I kinda want myself to fund a game through indiegogo eventually.
It's pretty much the only way I'd be able to hire a scripter for more than scriptlets XD

As for the potential palette change, indeed I've been thinking of this! I chose this particular shade for a specific reason but there might be ways to make it look better indeed! I'm gonna color-process it later and see how it feels, thanks! :D <3

I like how "natural" you made platforming feel on rm2k3. It's all about making the sprites animate in a way that's coherent with the limitations of 2k3 and you did it really well~

Also @Nerdboy that looks like an interesting setup :~
