Rezident Evil: It Is Escape

I miss these games as well..back then there was a lot of WTF humor, and hilarious Midi Music, and sometimes WAV tracks from bands.

I remember this one game right at the beginning that you fight this bald Midget while a Kid Rock Song was playing..that was damn hilarious.

What are you thinking about right now?

It might be the choice of emulator you're using.

By the way..does anybody remember what RPG maker game this was? Right at the beginning you go to this bar to see this band, and the Hero starts some shit up to where this Midget gets all pissed off, and you start a battle with him while this Kid Rock Song was playing in the background lol.

I'm glad some people here are for it so far since RMN is full of talented developers, and this will give some people a chance to draw out some MM-style Sprites (art is optional if you're good at it) to show off for the fan base community. To answer Sol's question, this would be Classic as it would be the easiest to work with given the assets now available for use thanks to the Upgraded Mega Engine. Currently there is no engine or I should say reliable engine to work with Mega Man X but...

There IS a Megaman X Engine in the works, but is not completed yet, but it will be one of the most accurate X1-X3 engine out there sometime this year, so I'll let you guys know when it is out. I'll link to it anyway if you want to know what it does -

It is called Mega Man X++

Now if this event really becomes a thing, the only question is if we're going to limit to classical 8 bosses or should we throw in many as we can from the event participators to be the ultimate Mega Man Experience.

Another thing (optionally) I really hope we can do where many fan developers have failed to do is to have this be like the ultimate story of telling Zero's past, and there is some official information to work with to build this story around him. Now I don't want anything like super edgy because I don't like Cataclysm theory the fans made up, Inafune even points out Zero didn't cause atrocities other than being violent & disobedient to where Wily had to seal him away (this was the mysterious part of the official story of Zero, it does not explain too much on what went on between Wily & Zero, and we only got a glimpse of that in X4), but it is up to you all if you want this to be that kind of story or let it be the classic Megaman defeats Wily once again kind of deal.

I'm not really sure how many Game Maker users we have around here, but the idea sounds interesting. However, the fact that the engine you're linking is distributing a (slightly illegal) license key for Game Maker 8.1 Pro might be a little to hinky for the mods here. I mean, yeah, they don't sell GM8 anymore, but...

Looking a bit at the engine code, I'm glad to see that they switched to using an array to deal with weapon damage values on each enemy. The older version of the engine was doing something like "megaBusterDamage = 1 || thunderWaveDamage = 3" and I just about had a heart attack looking at that mass of typo-induced-errors waiting to happen.

That I was not aware of, but I think something would have been said if it was the case since the Mods there are basically the same over here else the contest wouldn't have happened.

I guess we operated on a similar wavelength, sweet.

Looking forward to the Arrowny Gallery.

So I never did manage to get a consensus on this idea I had in mind for a particular RMN event, but what say you all are interested in crafting Megaman levels & bosses? I didn't want to make another topic about it, so I thought I post about it here. Lately some very good engines came out like the Mega Engine or it's upgraded version (that is more preferable) made for a on-going contest at Sprites.inc.

This is the upgraded Engine Devkit that is of now completed for the contest over there that will end soon in a couple weeks -

We already have some people playing around with it that is non-contest like someone remaking Crash Man's level. I really want to see what RMN Community is capable of creating that is off the beaten path. There are tutorials on how to use the upgraded engine, and it is quite easy to use once you get used to it. The Upgraded Engine also features showcase levels that show off many gimmicks (even the Megaman 8 SLIDE SLIDE SLIDE), and bosses (even a few special bosses from obscure games).

Hey WCouillard, I had this idea come to mind for maybe a future update after you release the game? How about you make it more interesting by allowing only CERTAIN guest characters fight special bosses from Final Fantasy's past? Basically I'm imagining a Arena trapped in a Space-Time Dimension where the host challenges Heroes to many battles where each Guest Character or certain Character Groups where they face their past dangers (Certain Monster Bosses & Villains), and once all bosses from each Universe are defeated the Host himself will challenge you to a final duel with no restrictions.

The Host will turn out to be Chronodia from Final Fantasy I - Remake. Since Chronodia is one of few villains able to cross space & time besides Chaos & Gilgamesh.

What is Chronodia's story for challenging the Heroes from space & time? That will be up to you. :)

The way the fights will be structured is by Game Universe, and you will receive a prize for each Arena Challenge. For example FFI Arena Challenge would be where you face a series of bosses from FFI, and Chaos would be it's final boss for that arena challenge. I'm thinking the way you access the Space-Time Dimension will be under Extras Option in the Title Screen or simply a new dungeon opening up in new game plus next time you play right at the beginning of the game. Also as a bonus for defeating all Arena Challenges for each game universe, there is a optional Arena challenge where you face villains/monsters from the SaGa series, but you don't have to beat it to fight Chronodia as it is simply a bonus.

Also to clarify on a point...ALL Arena Challenges (That means I-XV Space Time Arenas) except SaGa have to be defeated before facing Chronodia. XI, XIV, and XV are a bit problematic though due to lack of sprites, so that could be optional as well besides SaGa.

This way this would give Guest Characters a bit more of a purpose than simply just being used for new game plus+ Story Mode. This is a lot of work you're putting in for Guest Characters simply for new game plus+ since there is so many of these characters to choose from, and it would be good to use this opportunity to use it's full potential.

I hope you take this idea under consideration because something like this would be hell of a lot fun to do!

Waiting for Sprites.inc to get back online hopefully soon, it seems ACEspark's MyBB - "The Cure" took a big shit, and destroyed the whole website.

Yeah..it sure gave "The Cure" alright, more like a disease.

I don't have a issue with this type of style either, I like the tension added that you have to plan ahead.
