[MAFIA] October Werewolves
welp, i guess i better say something in my defense before the bandwagon sets off for wrongful execution city
here's the scoop: i am a villager. and while i was initially confused that i hadn't received a role pm, i wised up before i posted anything. it occurred to me shortly thereafter that feigning ignorance might be a good way to prove my alignment - not that i thought it would help me so much as it would help the village by discouraging any werewolves from trying to pull the same stunt. apparently i put too much stock into the ploy, though, since if a werewolf had been the one to attempt it, everyone would have jumped on him, anyway.
it was a dishonest mistake! but not a malicious one. the lesson to be learned here, i guess, is not to draw attention to yourself when we're still in the speculative lynch phase. also, we have a cop now, so, y'know... we don't have to be completely dependent on hunches and trace evidence. :/
yeah so anyway /lynch abstain
side note: the worst part about getting wrongfully lynched day 1, i would think, is you have to wait until the game ends before you can say i told you so... and by then, nobody cares :<

How long would you guys prefer days? Do you guys like these roles better:

i personally liked the relatively short day/night cycle, but i think it may have been too fast to accommodate everyone. maybe you could allow 24 hours each for day and night, and end early in the event that a majority is reached (for the day) or all night actions are sent in (for, uh, the night). it's a little less predictable than having a fixed sunrises and sunsets, but if everyone's active then it shouldn't matter.
also, i would have liked to see this play to the end, 'cause lavalle still had a shot at securing a win for saltworld!
also, who was the submissions manager? i didn't see it on the role list at the end?
also, for what it's worth, i had a lot of fun with this up until my untimely death. you can count me in for the next one!
also, sunshinesan, i don't think you were any more or less active than you were "supposed" to be. you voted frequently, and your posts showed that you were really paying attention to the game and putting some thought into who to lynch. if activity is your only concern about reenlisting, i think you should reconsider. :v

Now this is what I believe is counterproductive. It's good you posted some analysis above but a no lynch on the first day is almost always considered bad because if you can have a discussion then you can find scum on day one and it has happened before.
i agree with you, but there's no reason to believe that scum is geodude. that wasn't even a hunch, it was a shot in the dark. i think lynching him would be an unwise risk. the best thing to do, i think, would have been to lynch YM, but i didn't think i'd be able to garner much support on that front, so i went for the option i felt had the best chance of doing good. we can always lynch YM tomorrow, if nothing better presents itself. hopefully my accusations won't draw his wrath and i'll live to plead my case another day. :v
On a side note, do you really think I am being counter productive? All previous posts so far have been short and without content but now we are moving on to discussion so I see my post as a good thing for making us move to a discussion.
i didn't mean to imply that, i only meant to condemn the bandwagon. you're entirely right, though, your post sparked some discussion and that's a definite plus. if you hadn't, i probably would have jumped on the geodude bandwagon without giving it any thought.

post=211492lynching a random user with zero evidence is a move more likely to help the trolls than the real men. i don't mean to suggest anything of your character, arcan, or anyone else's - but to hop on the geodude bandwagon so readily suggests that you either know something the rest of us don't... or you're just a little foolish.

as for shinan, he announced his intent to lynch geodude before he even received his role pm, so from where i'm sitting his accusation looks like a total joke. what concerns me more is that YM went along with it so willingly. it's almost like he was waiting for a baseless villager lynch so he could fan the flames and force a favorable lynch for the mafia scum. :/
raised eyebrows aside, i think it's too soon to be taking anyone to the gallows. for the time being i feel the only reasonable vote is no lynch.
