I'm not sure if you would like to go this far with it, but I think a good idea would be to add some sort of "level" system like I've seen on a few other forums. Basically, people who just started would be allowed to post in the "newbie section" like you mentioned, but not in the normal section or whatever. Once they've reached that qualification of "prime time" they could go to the next level and be allowed to post in other places.

I'm aware that this is a really restrictive way of doing things, but it would definitely help to weed out people that wouldn't contribute, or people that just joined to troll/shitpost. Also, it would stop bots for the most part.

Just an idea.

The biggest disappointment that I can recall right now was Twilight Princess. Being Zelda, I naturally expected that it would be at least pretty good. By god, that game is AWFUL. It's far too easy most of the time, and when it does get hard it usually jumps up to some frustrating levels. The story was pretty okay until it got hijacked by Ganon like 15 minutes before the end (Which has the record for me of most disappointing turnout in a plot).

What bothers me is that it definitely could have been something, they just destroyed it with the messed up difficulty and addiction to including Ganondorf in everything (Zelda related) they make.

Others that were kind of disappointing were Pokemon Platinum, Metoid Prime 3, Dragon Age and the last three Final Fantasy games (duh).

The only reason it happens is because a bunch of stupid 4chan trolls think they're funny.
