I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

The Featured Game Thread
I do put up commercial games as long as they're, as stated, ones that are established through the community. If a game was high-high quality and made a big splash here I'd probably consider it, but we have a LOT of non-commercial games that deserve the light and were built through community here, so I'm more likely to pick them over a commercial game that came from seemingly no-where.

There's an option in the event commands to change the graphical aspects for various heroes in your party.
Third event page, System Settings, Change Actor Graphic.
This will change the sprite and face for a specific character until you use the command to change it back - it becomes the default look for that character.

Just for the record: I got an (uninvited) mail from someone named Aubreymanahan12 offering me the "help" of some "Lanot Game Studio" which sounds pretty much like what you're describing here.
Yeah, I looked into them. While they appear to be a legit business, I have banned the account due to them ignoring my warning against spamming. RIP to them.
TBH, they seem more like a MOBA game type group, if anything, based on their site and clientele.
[RM2K3] Trouble making a PNG image have transparency
Have you tried using the import image feature and clicking on the black part to denote it as transparent?
Sometimes when you just put an image straight into the folders, the image will have another colour chosen to be the transparent one, so you have to actually use the import feature in the engine to manually pick what's the transparent colour.
