LIBERTY'S PROFILE

I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

I already considered the titles thing, though - I decided last minute that I'd just paste the links because 'effort'. XD I'll probably use titles as links (and add dates of release, too, come to think of it) in the future because it would look better than just pasting a link.

Buzzing doesn't necessarily mean good - buzzing can be from people just talking about one little thing or anticipating a new feature in a game (Blog post: Oh hey I added that you can now run. lol - cue people and ~drama~). A lot of the good ones get over-looked, especially when it comes to games that don't look as cool or polished as others, or where the dev isn't popular.

The main reason I made this was because I go through the blogs every week. Every single one made. And I noticed that there were a fair few well-made blogs that had no posts. Or just one. In comparison to someone else's blogs which might not have been as well made, but garnered more attention. It made me a sad kitty, so this is me rectifying that a little. Also, anything that promotes fewer half-paragraph blogs is a-okay in my book. Hopefully the desire to be noticed will do that.

And, yeah, I debated about putting the blog names in there. I just wanted to get it out and see if reactions were good. I'll be sure to add them next time. >.<)b

Just looking at the current Buzzing list, there's about 3 blogs that I've pointed out posted there. The others are small paragraph blogs or announcements.

@Sated: I probably didn't make it clear enough, but if a blog is interesting yet short, it'll still count. For the 20XX, I figured that people would be interested to hear about the latest development.

@Ratty: The dates are what denote the choosing. As far as I could tell, there was only one blog for RMN Pokemon in the last 2 weeks (I went through every single blog released in that time.) Besides, I figured you could use the help with the request, too.

There's a lot of really short, vapour blogs out there and that's fine. Some are just to announce a new download, some are to ask a specific question of the fans. But I want to encourage people to make good blogs and shining a light on those great blogs with great content seemed to be a good way to do that.

DS Resource Pack Review

Dude, you really need to buy a new microphone! I almost lost my hearing. ;.;

Still, I can see a series of these kinds of articles being useful.

Don’t Throw Away That 2k3 Just Yet

Don't forget that it has double-right-mouse click to change layer, layers that don't interact with each other when mapping, a more stable eventing core (thus using events for mapping is useful because they don't lag the game, nor do they 'jump' the one-pixel that Ace does). Oh, and the side-view is built in, with a lot of graphics already created for it that work in the engine without having to worry about scripts that aren't built for them.

And that it's easy to mess with, yet powerful as well.
The new upgrade has helped out a lot with a whole new translation and a fix for the battle speed (that is sooo nice).
Frankly, it's a good fucking engine and personally I love it to bits. The only thing that I would like to see changed in it is a reordering of the event commands - something like Ace's with headings - but otherwise it's a great engine that still has many years left in it's life.

RMN MAY-JUNE 2015 PODCAST

Why do Liberty and Slash sound so unclear? To my understanding Liberty at least has a pretty decent mic. What sort of recording method are you using for these podcasts?

Also, "get makerscore" and "free stuff" is your whole coverage of SoS? =P
Thanks for the shout out though.

It's a long event that we covered a bit more of in previous podcasts, so it's not a surprise that we point out the basic gains from it. Besides, also pointed out that there's tunes and stuff for people to actually leave feedback on so it's not like we just said 'go get makerscore for free stuff' - there was more to it than that. Besides, most people who listen to the podcast are from the site - they know or should know about it by now and for them the main draw will be getting MS. Feedback is as important as people participate. I'll be on for each month until it ends, in any case, so people aren't likely to forget about it.

RMN MAY 2015 PODCAST

Nope. I keep forgetting to mention the spotlights. >.<;
Ooops. I'll have to remember them next time.

RMN MAY 2015 PODCAST

Why yes, how did you know? ;p

It's hard to balance sound well when there are three people with three different microphones of varying sound and clarity. Especially when they record all on the same channel. >.<;
