LOCKEZ'S PROFILE

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

[mafia] Spy vs. Mafia II Day 3

It's probably also worth looking back at demonlord and the voting, as going by what ozzy said it's quite likely the scum agents didn't disclose their identities initially but demonlord would have disclosed his to them when things got serious.
Wouldn't it also be possible that Demonlord didn't reveal his identity to them as to avoid making them try to protect him either consciously or subconsciously? By doing that, it would make all of the other scum look like town.

That doesn't really make sense. I mean, scum should usually be protecting each other. You might decide to throw someone under the bus, but it doesn't make any sense to not even want the option to know whether you're doing so or not. Or to not give your teammates that option.

So, three people died last night? Or just the two named?
Just the two. And also someone used an item, but it didn't seem to kill anyone.

So, we still got Fomar a confirmed town both from an item and the slip demon made (I need to recheck that comment) and Jero an almost confirmed town. I don't think there was any reason for hard bussing like that.

What slip? I missed this.

Something about psy is bothering me. He said the item only had a 90% accuracy rate but Pianotm just said "Fomar is town!" Is he lying? 90% accuracy that the user knows about but the moderator doesn't tell anyone else about sounds like the kind of thing that scum would make up if they had an item that fake-confirmed someone as town. So that when Fomar flips as scum, psy still has an explanation for why he was tricked.

Also he went out of his way to point out a couple other things he didn't know about the item, as if to say, "I can't come up with a foolproof lie to explain my behavior, because I don't know the entire setup, so I'll just leave my options open and claim I don't know exactly what I just did." He doesn't know who it targets. He doesn't know where it goes. He doesn't know WHEN it goes. He doesn't know if the 10% chance is a failure chance or a false reading chance. It's not a very good lie.

Psy's just been generally acting weird all game, asking for things that don't make sense to me. Why did he still want to lynch Ozzy after he claimed as an agent? Why did he want Ozzy to reveal the code names of the agents, when all Ozzy had to do to prove to the other agents was say "I'm Ozzy" in agent chat? He pushed kind of hard for that. Is it because Psy is in scum chat, and suspects that the double agent has the same name in both chats, and wanted that info?

Also, nobody else has used the trombone yet. So I think there's a very real possibility that Psy_wombats is lying and it didn't work anything like how he claimed. But if it just took some time to get transferred to someone else, and someone else has it now, then by all means please prove me wrong. I would love to actually have two confirmed town. Probably four, in fact, after the new mystery owner uses it.

Oh, here's a less secretive reason why I think Cave is probably town.

OK. If this game works like the previous Spy vs. Spy Mafia (and the OP says it does), then scum don't know each-other's identities.
boy I sure do love playing "mafia" on rmn.

author=CAVE_DOG_IS_BACK
I'm going to say it. wtf is the each-other rule.

These posts look genuine to me. Like Cave had a sudden moment of frustration because he genuinely did not understand that the setup was weird before I said so. And then actually didn't know what this rule was a reference to.

For anyone who wants the full scoop, here is the link to when psy_wombats figured out I was scum in the first Spy vs. Mafia game because the double agent copied and pasted the entirety of scum chat into the main mafia thread, and even though we were using secret code names, psy figured out who I was because I hyphenated the word each-other.

Yeah I might as well. I'll be going to bed soon and I need to have a vote down. He was acting pretty suspiciously before that claim. One thing that's bothering me is that roles/items don't seem to be the same considering that tuba that spawned in. In which case why did ozzy claim to have a paper bag from the start?

author=demonlord5000
I wouldn't normally do this but I'm going to sleep soon and I probably won't be back before the day ends. He's suspicious enough to warrant a vote at least.
scum. someone else make the case for me. nap time.

Yeah, uh. A player publicly proves someone's alignment, and demonlord claims they're scum and wants to lynch them because of made-up reasons. What a garbage suggestion. Also he's been acting weird all day and saying/doing things that make no sense. As several other people have pointed out.

Emily seems to have been helpful, logical, and sensible so far. She's on my town read list. Not sure why Cavedog thinks she's being weird. Maybe he's just trying to get a reaction. Maybe he's scum and is trying to get other people to make up the reasons for him by being vague. (I do still think Cave is town though)

#lynch demonlord5000

Even though I still think PlatinumAshes is suspicious too.

[mafia] Spy vs. Mafia II Day 3

OK. If this game works like the previous Spy vs. Spy Mafia (and the OP says it does), then scum don't know each-other's identities. So if he's scum, then a fake claim does mean that he would have to reveal himself to the rest of scum chat, including a potential double agent. Otherwise he would get night killed.

Also, everyone in the agent chat at least has the ability to say "I'm not Ozzy." But I'm not sure those people can actually do anything about it. They would have to out themselves as agents in public in order to counter his claim. Uh, don't do that. Because a third possibility is that he's actually vanilla town who's fake claiming to draw scum's fire. So really we have no good way to know anything about his claim during a day phase. We just have to wait and see what happens tonight.

I guess I'm willing to let Ozzy off the hook for now. If he doesn't get nightkilled then he becomes much more suspicious, but we'll see what happens. Maybe there's a cop, for example.

Also wouldn't a gray agent be possible (or even more likely) instead of an outright traitor, too?

Yeah. The first Spy vs. Spy game had two scum, two town, and a neutral double agent who was in both chats and merely needed to survive to win.

Things I've noticed:
1. On day one, everyone is at each other's throats.
2. Psychoanalysis of every post.
3. The other posts are loooong. Paragraphs. Wow.
Conclusion:
Everyone is extremely dedicated to this. They look to find the most obscure speaking patterns, looking at other people's post history, and going off of that for their normal speech.
Then, they simply read what was posted, and their previous posts to find speech differences.
All in all, you guys, combined, are like Sherlock Holmes. Jeez.

I didn't know there was a different way to play mafia.

Ok, LockeZ. You're right about that one. I get your vote. We got better reasons to suspect people now - content of their posts. Can you try to write a sentence or two on PA's posts?

PA has barely written that much in his own posts. It's just nonstop jokes, including doubling down on the fuschia agent joke after everyone else pointed out it was a joke. Zero content so far, though that's hardly unique to PA.

I mean, I'm okay with the jokes on day one though. It honestly helps us get reads to some degree, because inevitably one idiot will take them seriously. Often oddrabbit, pianotm or demonlord then says something really confusing that reveals that they misunderstood the rules in a way that nobody could do if they were in a group chat. Or, as in this case, just over-analyzes the nonsense in a way that nobody would do if they were in a group chat.

As far as pointing out people who are inciting suspicion of others in what feels to me like an excessively aggressive way, which I think is an actual behavioral scum tell, my top concern so far is Cap_H. But Cap_H is also near the top of my town list, if that makes sense. He's making a ton of reads and fostering a lot of discussion, which is good, but his town reads feel a lot better-supported than his scum accusations. I'm not really sold on anyone's behavior as being scummy so far.

So also, I don't really like Cave calling for consolidating votes. There is no nolynch here, even to the point that in a tie it's a coin-flip. It's better to get as much information in as possible since you can't "forget" or "miss" the hammer.

Yeah, but we still get way more info about what the votes mean if there are actual votes to analyze. If the person who gets lynched only has two votes on them, then that's not nearly as much info to look at. So his suggestion makes sense to me at least. I at least think your read on Cave is a reasonable one that has some logic behind it; it doesn't convince me of the read, but it does convince me that you're trying to make useful reads. Between that and your general tone, I'm putting you on my "vaguely towny" list for now.
