[RM2K3] MP3 files now crash the program
I dunno if win 10 still offers this option; but if all else fails, do a backup of your work immediately, and then maybe rollback to a restore point to an earlier date before the issue started happening.
I had to do that whenever i reinstalled rm2000 and it'd nuke my font/make it entirely blank. the restore point saved the font.
I'll see if I can gather some help from the discord. I'm curious to know what's causing this/how to solve it as well.

[RM2K3] MP3 files now crash the program

-The midi files are still working okay.
-I'm using Cherry's RPG Maker Ultimate / RPG Maker 2003 unofficial version
-I tested it with other projects, it also crashes so it seems to be an issue with the new PC I'M using, I'm on Windows 10.
-changing my mp3 to wav works but it's not a good solution.

Have you tried running the mp3 in non-ultimate? I remember running into this problem as well. I remember the cool thing about ultimate was that, ultimate was interchangeable I think?
In other words, if you did edits under ultimate, and then moved back to the regular rm2k3 editor, those changes would carry over, as long as you didn't do anything further with them. like battle animations being expanded from 1x25 to 1x200 etc. the 200 edit would stay as long as you didn't try to edit it further outside of ultimate 2k3.
Eitherway, returning to regular 2k3 editor, might be a temp solution to this problem. but ya see if mp3s still work - did mp3s just stop working suddenly in ultimate?

I do like it in the middle, but I feel it'd be better served by being in the middle of the bottom of the screen so it'd not blocking out the "action" like that.
Maybe there's another reason it's up there though, or perhaps it'll make more sense once I see it in action, who knows.
ye! it makes more sense in action - the menu disappears after you select your commands, it's a really cool setup. looking forward to more with this.

I just wanna quickly post about this, cause this was good.

Ocean's stuff, always brings me back to the mid-late 90s squaresoft where anything Final Fantasy was cool?
Final Fantasy Tactics and FF7 were in the same breath and were new and interesting.
This demo is similar to that. Froggement's is good. It's a really small demo currently, but it kind of reminds me of the murder mystery game delsin showed us last year for the turbo graphics CD called "Private Eye Dol" released in 95' where each level played out like a stage play, and you moved the story forward by talking to each of the characters and they'd tell you what they know about the murder, through gorgeous animated facesets, voice acting or full motion FMV, further animating the world that you're exploring as you try to solve each murder - Fragments of the Mind is somewhat similar to this in format. it's not as murder mystery focused and it doesn't have voice acting, but there's a similar structure here, there's still a case that needs to be solved and there are some final fantasy elements and well thoughout battles attached to it.
It's really neat. The demo is very very short about half an hour long. But I enjoyed it a lot,
the demo ends right when it's getting really good - I really wanted to find out what happened to Sandra.
If you like Final Fantasy, Paradise Blue or anything Ocean has made over the past few years, definitely check this one out. There are games that got me into rpgmaker - froggments is the one that convinced me to stay with it.

A definite highlight of the Boulevard of Broken 2k3 Dreams Event and a 2023 nominee.
A really cool game came out, called "Pinball Ryan(?)" from this years VIP2023 summer camp, where these guys made, a pinball machine, Wolfenstein 3D and a SEGA arcade afterburner clone and a tamagotchi, all in rpgmaker2003 (think? I'll have to double check)5 or 6 guys worked on this together, it's all done in steam rpgmaker2003. 1 one of them had multiple duties to tie all the different games together - that's all i can make out from japanese twitter.

Bad Apple is really cool proof of concept. It's harder to make out cause the tiles are bigger. I remember seeing this during 2023 but forgot to make a note of it and nominate it. 2023 was kind of a bad year. So a lot of stuff slipped under the radar. I'll see if I can mention it somewhere, so i'm mentioning here as a year end highlight for posterity.
...It's really difficult to get stuff nominated for the misaos. So be sure to checkout both the nominees as well as the winners.

EDIT: Now I remember. the English Translation for the rpgmaker game "Taut", originally a German rpgmaker game, needed 2000 RTP. However, the french translation needed 2003 RTP. I never got around to solving this or fixing this. But I made a note of it, because this probably what something like this would help solve.
