Goaling It 2023
This turned out to be a hot mess of a year.
At end of of 2022, it really felt like 2023 was gonna be..."different" from what 2022 was like?
But it just felt like a variation of what 2022 was.
Lot of unexpected things happened - kind of pushed everything to the side.
I still want get the above stuff mentioned done, but I'm working through it slowly.
Here's hoping next year will be better.

Old/Lost RpgMaker Games - SegNin's Rare/Obscure RM Games Request Topic
I found Royal.png from Lord of the Rings (Author)(RM2k)(2005)(wRTP).rar
My memory of RM2000 is incredibly foggy, as I only started playing around with RM2000 around 2004.
But I feel like, similar to SegNin solving the mystery of holiness1.wav there was a subsection of RM2000 files that everyone had used during the early 2000s, that they used alongside Don Mig's RTP?
EDIT: Yeah, I just, checked the link Darken provided. Royal.png is not part of rm2k_rtp, that's part of Don Mig's RM2000 installer.
The RM2000 RTP we have under the masterlist is actually from RMTutorials/RMRK/2DRPG.com, which doesn't have these files. I still have Don Mig's RM2000 installer (from several harddrives ago and on CDs). I'll see if I can put together a link or something that fixes these issues.
EDIT2: It'd be cool if we could create an injector that'd just, install those additional 38 files from Don Miguel's installer sans font and call it
"RTPe2: the don miguel files".

Brothers Arcanes Quest (Author)(RM2k3)(2000).rar is a 2k game.
that looks for a file called "royal" I remember this file being a chipset or a system window thing, back in the day? but I can't remember what it is or how I ran across it, any additional info here would be helpful here.
EDIT: Installing 2000 RTP sometimes brings up old font issues like font disappear or spacing etc - I have 2000 RTP, is there a way we can create a fan installer that'd install 2000 RTP without these issues?

Great stuff as always. These two points stuck out to me the most:
I feel dumb sharing this but; those two dumb tech demos I made, they took 1 month each, but while making them I began to have self doubts over whether or not they'd still be funny once I finished them? What helped out, the most, was those animated gifs you see on the gamepages - not only is it a form of self advertising, but it helped me boil down the jokes to their most simplest form and by doing that it gave me the drive to go forward and finish them; because you could instantly see what the ending and beginning was going to look like and whether or not it workedand then all the work you had to do in between in order to make it complete - I feel like that's been the biggest challenge with rpgmaker; because we're grown up believing rpgs should be long detailed experiences, we never took into consideration the challenges and issues that come with that and I feel like it was only with time and watching smaller successes come out since then, that maybe we should probably start to aim for smaller, shorter more self contained experiences - because the biggest problem is always going to be, losing the scope of something.
Also, This 100%, I've been saying this for years ❤️:
Pick 1 or 2 things and do them really well, disregard all the rest. I remember not even deciding what the story would be. Truth is anything becomes lame the more you spend time on it and replay the intro over and over. With enough iteration you can potentially surprise just about anyone with enough time and thought, but that has a cost. That cost needs to be factored just as much as any other potential time sink. Really I should have just wrote the entire story in a first draft from start to finish, tweak things a bit along the way but actually stick to immovable story points.
Another thing to consider is just make a few sentences of what the game boils down to "A quirky RPG about an eventual uprising started by unlikely heroes." and just never go in a direction that contradicts that statement. When making The Godfather, Francis Ford Coppola merely went back to the word "Family" whenever he was stuck in a writing corner. This isn't some magical spiritual creative thing he was doing, but a way to merely not get off track and lose sight of the goal. It's vague enough to not be too exact, but concrete enough to understand why you wanted to make the thing in the first place.

I would also encourage anyone in their early 20s to actually experience more of the world and daily life simply because expressing things creatively comes more easily when you actually have tangible experiences to pull from. Exposing yourself to different hobbies and activities that aren't just consuming media actually often helps and compliments the creative process.
Point is you should complete games faster so you can not only get the ideas out of your system but also to enjoy life more in-between.
