For over 12 years, I have been creating my own video games and art. I started out by creating games on Microsoft Powerpoint believe it or not and then graduated to Rpg Maker and eventually to more advanced engines such as Construct, Unreal Dev Kit, and Game Maker. I have mastered Adobe Photoshop over the last several years and have become proficient in using Blender. I have a passion for creating, learning, and now teaching =]

Haha I wasn't sure if you were referring to me but yeah I posted here first! Than I figured I might as well for the Eden Gate page since I wanted to do a Christmas map from the game! Well consider it my official submission for the contest =] I guess the front page of this topic still needs to be updated with the screen.

Thanks Jparker I certainly hope so as well. I'm pretty committed to seeing this through though, I'm hoping for a demo at least sometime early next year.

@Ashley: I was indeed, I don't recognize your name though, what did you go by in GW? Also thanks! As per the animation I tried to shift the pixels up a bit but when I did that it didn't look like he was thrusting his spear properly (Using his legs to be grounded in order to thrust his arms and upper back forward), I can try again but I'm not sure what else to do in regards to the animation.
@Large: I'm not sure what to say, all the fonts are the same type and size in that screen. You may be referring to the difference in size between the Upper Case and Lower Case letters and if so that was done on purpose...

Eden Gate
Thanks for all the interest in this project, I read everyone of your comments and will do my best to make this a fun and playable game. Clyve: The commands for the shop menu are at least for me complicated enough I think if I added what you are suggesting I'd get way too confused trying to manage it all. While I wish I could implement all of those suggestions..as I have thought about it, I currently have to choose between a functional system or something that may not get finished.
@Lockez: My intentions for this game were from the start to make it not only playable with little to no lag but also make it as custom as I can with a good story and fun gameplay. I hope it comes through.

I just bought Skyrim! Now I'm waiting for Sony to send back my Ps3 (yellow light) But I am definitely inspired by games like Skyrim when working on Eden Gate. I see something I think is really cool and I immediately start thinking of ways to implement it into my game. It's worked pretty well so far...most of what you see in these screens are working if not complete!

So here is a new pic, it's a custom Hero Name system I created.
@Felipe: That looks pretty cool, my only complaints are the "score -1" image looks strange having a lot of "noise" to it I'd make it smoother with a bit of bevel like the images for the Name...Ryu, Goku. Also the portraits are too transparent you can't see what should be visible very well. Finally I would have the sprites for the characters in the front and not blocked by objects...like the trees. I'd recommend having transparencies in the coding to make them see through if you want to add different layers to the 2d design. Other than that I like the map a lot. Is it edited or ripped from a dbz game?

@Orochii: Thanks! Aside from sprites, spells animations, and some pics most of what you see are originals. I am actually looking for a spriter currently as I would like a completely original look for this game but I have yet to hear anything from anyone.

@Superembo: I agree it is a bit long, I am looking for ways to address this but to be forward I never intended for this game's battle system to be rapid fast...I wanted a feel similar to the ATB system but in a sandbox environment allowing the Hero to move freely. Thank you for your interest =]
P.S. If you look at the video near the HP and MP bars is the ABS ATB wheel, after attacking it spins gray and when the Hero is allowed to attack again it turns green...it all happens in less than a second.
