For over 12 years, I have been creating my own video games and art. I started out by creating games on Microsoft Powerpoint believe it or not and then graduated to Rpg Maker and eventually to more advanced engines such as Construct, Unreal Dev Kit, and Game Maker. I have mastered Adobe Photoshop over the last several years and have become proficient in using Blender. I have a passion for creating, learning, and now teaching =]

Pretty cool screens, looks very early in development but I've messed around with 3d engines before so I know how challenging it can be to work around them. Good work so far, keep it up.
what scares you the most?

Aw man I'd love to go skydiving and also the being frozen deal sounds like it'd be nice every now and again...but definitely not forever.

Oh gotcha that screen looks pretty good =] I like the use of color there. So I created a concept for the feedback I gave you, if you like it great..I'm glad I could help!

Ignore the font, that's just what I had selected from another project but you should definitely add an exit button it is important to give the user that option and make it visible in any GUI.

Felipe: There are things in your screenshot I really like and things I'm not too sure about. The buttons themselves for one are very slick, I love the colors on them and my only personal suggestion to you there is to make them smaller as I think just being 2 options they take up a lot of the screen. Also it would be a good idea to have a "Cancel" or "Exit" button if this is not your first screen.
The Green outline around the menu I'm not personally a fan of, it does look off and I don't think it adds much of a contrast being a green colored border itself. I'd suggest maybe making a movie style horizontal box on the top and bottom to squish it down. It's an affect I have found very pleasant, especially with a moving background.
As per your background, I see it is inspired by the move "The Matrix" does it move or is it just a stationary picture? I would recommend having it be multiple layers of characters moving at different speeds to give it a nice effect.
That being said I think it's a great start, aside from my personal take on it, my biggest concern with it is that everything is green minus the white fonts and characters. This can be a turn off to some (The world is full of color and most of us are use to seeing it that way everyday...so use it, color!)

I agree the menu is too big but I don't agree with the depart button being useless. It is important to give the user options and make it clear to them what sorts of interactions can occur, this is essential in making a user-friendly and good GUI. So I would suggest you keep all four options but think of concepts for the menu that you can manifest into a more aesthetically pleasing form.
Here these fonts should help:
http://www.dafont.com/bitmap.php
for the resolution of 320X240 which is displayed by rpgmaker 2003 and prior, it is important to use fonts such as the ones that can be found in the link provided. Using the fonts you are using now may be better used with non-transparent backgrounds (In rpg maker or low res displays), pictures with transparent background would be enhanced more with the fonts provided in the said link. Hope that helps.

Mapping Contest #1 - Town(Vote Now!)
Hey it's good to ask questions but I think some of you guys are going a bit overboard, the rules were posted on the front page and this is a creative mapping contest so I think w/e goes as long as you abide by the rules. But Tau can correct me if I'm wrong on that.
Anyways good luck to all of you I can't wait to see what comes out of this!
