Writer's Block. How to beat it? Creating a story.

You could try building a story around a cause you believe in.
For example: Protecting the environment, ending world hunger, space exploration, or exposing players to world cultures.
I can see it now: Ending World Hunger: The RPG. An edutainment adventure brought to you by HBGames & Sons.

Currently I just decided to create the maps first then add the story as I go along and find inspiration.
No. Noooo. Noooooo. Don't do that. I'm serious, stop it! Maps need to emerge from your story, not the other way around. The last thing you want is having made a stupid dumb lava cave and then be committed to forcing your story into there later.
Devise the conflict, lay your world's foundation, make your core characters. What's happening? Why are your characters involved? You want to grow out your story gradually and organically from that point, like a tree. Water that kawaii freakin tree with the bones and guts of your foundation. It'll grow. Good luck.

There are some crazy f'd up combinations in the generator which can stir greater eldritch horrors than MaxMcGee's colored history of plagiarism. It would be peachy if some kind artist liberated the children using this tool by providing some better assets. It won't be me though. I have too many pixels on my platter as it is.
I saw BadLuck posting recently. Maybe somebody could forward this to him and he can get the ball moving on a Starlancer 6-2. The world has been waiting too long.

Ye gods, have a bit of self respect old buddy. The social media's gonna eat you for breakfast and save the bones for stew. If you aren't constantly asserting your cool it will be perceived as a sign of weakness.

More than just a few people in the VXA community are afraid that if they use rips they will be sued and their project destroyed. On top of that, any games that use rips aren't allowed to be shared on RMWeb. Since this is considered the flagship community by some, its policies tend to trickle outward.
We're just moving beyond the era of rips, for better and worse. People that want to make games with ripped graphics should of course still feel free to without the silly fear that SquareEnix is going to come knocking on their door, however..

Maybe Enterbrain's sadfact.html put him off from RPG2003. It made me question my 16-year old self for all of ten seconds before ignoring it

because I also want to do something with notices and username tagging.
Clicking on the @username in a quote should give a list of options, with the most prominent link taking readers to the respective person's Twitter account instead. You know, maybe it should just display a mouse-over Twitter feed. I'd really like it to be like a drive-by of compelling user tweets, minus the death and blood of the traditional namesake.
A Pixel Artist Renounces Pixel Art
Pixel art will always be a retro thing, and there's no real 'reclaiming' it from that status. We can, however; aim to reclaim it from the stereotypes that have emerged along with the indie games revolution. The biggest problem is there is just a market over-saturation of pixel games because yes, they are often cheap, and some of them (many of them?) are bad.
A lot of indie developers latch onto pixels because they are perceived as "easy". This hurts everybody's bottom line, because it's a sad misconception and reduces pixel art to an amateur aesthetic that anybody can use. Let's not fool ourselves here either, the Minecraft titan is both responsible for much of the public's awareness of pixel art as well as being a contributor (along with Spaghetti Pixel Jones) in devaluing credibility in using it as a style.

yes I managed it. it was a horrible and dark time. I passed that off to Deckiller who subsequently died of a heart attack. Liberty now manages it and she's swearing much more lately. Her meltdown is scheduled for August of this year.
