vacant sky's failure and the trends of selling rtp to stupid humans
I never said it was stealing or even deceitful. I did say it was lazy to charge money for something you've made with the RTP and that if they are charging for an rpg maker game it should be something they've spent a lot of time customising and making it unique.
Really if they can make that much money for an rpg maker game then they should do it.
But if anyone can make money doing any standard of rpg maker game, with little effort put into designing things for themselves then it's just going to be lazy and cheep.
I'm not picking on their game because I haven played it. The blog mentions a guy using a story and title from another game though and making most of his game from RTP, which is pretty damn lazy. I'd prefer a funded rpg maker game to be a groundbreaking story with visuals and audio that is entirely generated by the maker...then it would have earned it's place as the one you pay for.
EDIT: What does TFT mean?

Success of the Kickstarter + Moving forward
When you say that's right. Do you mean, "that's right, we did get no money?" or did you mean "that's right, it'll be nice to have 5 or 6 grand"

2. "Angel Rape". Congratulations if you made it this far without wanting close this or rip out my throat (and hands). Now to my point; If there's anything your known for outside of your fanbase, its clearly this. This is definitely something you're gonna have to work on making nothing more than a footnote if you're going big.
While I think that this kickstarter thing sounds like a stupid money grab too, I have NO IDEA what this guy is on about. The developer has every right to ask what you mean by this since it makes no fucking sense.
You start off with "angel rape" is that supposed to mean something? Is it a person's avatar name? then there's a couple more lines before you get to "your point" and that point boils down to: "this is what you're known for, change this if you want to be big"
what is "THIS?"
What is it you are saying, sir?
EDIT: if you don't meet your goal on kickstarter does that mean you get no money?
I mean, even if she didn't get 10k, 5 or 6 would still be nice, right?
Helper Series - Science and Magic Helper: The war of two sides
Holly god damn, shitballs. I may have the first post on this legendary game.
And since it is the first I won't be boosting it to the top of the list.
Lucky a thousand years have passed since the first one, since no one knows what it was about.
That's not an insult, it's just that this is a sequel to something that doesn't exist.
Are some of those pictures from the first one? <.<
MULTI UNIVERSE....
has this franchise taken on the labyrinthine quantum world model of DC and Marvel comics?
I will beta test if you export it as a game. I don't want to have to download VX ace as well now.

I figured it out. Keep having to sleep as my antidotes are running low. Problem now is the spheres. I'll recheck all the rooms downstairs to see if the one remaining is there...
Good plan. I'm quite happy with that shield and feather thing. I'm glad the asylum is proving more of a challenge than the school, thanks for pointing out that it was a bit simple. It's in line for an overhaul now.
In the final copy people will have to weigh up whether it's worth using an antidote or sleeping, because if they sleep all the time they'll get hungry and might start running out of food. I think it'll be good.
How many spheres have you got?
and how many minutes does it say you've been playing?

Custom menus are that personal touch now? What about, I don't know, AN ORIGINAL STORY? Non-cliched, non-idiot characters?
Yes. I think if you are using something that isn't the default you are customising. That gives a personal touch rather than the default touch.
No. Original story is not customisation. An original story is pretty much necessary for a good RPG game but it is not a custom feature, it's the story of the game.
We are talking about the same thing but you seem to have a different understanding of terms to me.
I completely agree that if someone wants to crowd fund an RPG it should have an original story. Major studios churn out RPGs with the same story and get away with it because of fancy graphics or new mechanics but if you're on kick started with an RPG it SHOULD be because you have some monumentally new narrative to show the world.
I was just saying that if you are SELLING your game you should have made a lot of content yourself and not just used RTP. That is pretty lazy.
vacant sky's failure and the trends of selling rtp to stupid humans
I can't agree with that. I like that people are trying to expand the scope of RPG maker. It is built to make games just like the old final fantasies, but people have made custom menus and all sorts of stuff that is so much cooler and more individual.
I don't even mind when people over reach as long as they are going for something cool...not just out and out going nuts like that future tower stuff with it's online multiplayer.

I totally agree. If you're going to sell something you made in rpg maker, fair enough...if it's good enough to stand on it's own and you didn't just strap together the rtp stuff.
What this guy is doing is completely different, asking for several grand to continue his RPG maker project, which is all stuff ripped from another game.
Having said that, I'm sure anyone who's spent a lot of time on their RPG maker project would love a world where they could legitimately sell it without feeling bad.
