"Steampunk: when goths discover brown"
After one bigass town and this dungeon, I'm already tired of mapping with this color, heh :)

Dumbest Video Game Twists?{Spoilers}
Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy
Drakengard
(I've only read the let's play of Drakengard on SA. I'm glad I didn't play this game, haha)
The last bit of the game suddenly introduces some shit about Mayan prophecies or something. There's no buildup or foreshadowing to this, iirc.
Drakengard
The "Watchers" mentioned throughout the game are revealed to be giant flying killer babies. Also, all of ending E.

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)
I've been trying to think of ways to make "hard mode" more than just "enemies with higher stats". Would reducing a puzzle's timer be considered fair?
(Context: You find and attach some parts to a machine which temporarily opens a door one floor below. Touch encounters will slow you down, but you can clear some of them out beforehand, or maneuver around them.)

Who cares about credits?
I don't see the harm in including credits. Credits for things like sprites and tiles are important to me, so much so that I put the author's name of the asset in the filename, or just place their materials in a folder with their name on it. On my current project, the credits get their own page, but whether or not they'll be included in-game will be decided on whenever I get to the end.
If there could be links back to those credited people's websites (if possible) on the gamepage or readme, that'd be a very helpful timesaver for those looking for resources for their own projects in the future, similar to the Reference pages in academic journal articles. :)

Skippable combat?
author=LockeZ
but they still will skip battles if there's a "skip battle" option, because they have no self control and it will be more enjoyable for a brief moment.

Battle Demo Announcement + Wizardsong Release
The new logo looks nice. :)

Cartography: World Map Revamp
Now that you mention it, I could try the events where you occasionally get jumped by enemies. But those personally annoyed me because my casters in the back of the party would get their asses kicked while trying to run away. xD
I'll keep the events in mind for some possible sidequests in the future. ^^

@alterego
I've tried darkening the water and brightening the land a little bit, but it looked pretty strange, to be honest. Also, the mountains didn't match the map anymore. :( As for the location icons, I can't really enlarge them or else they'd break out of the 32x32 event sheet.
(Well, there's manually repixeling each one, but...I don't have time for that. >_>)
@narcodis
I agree with the desaturation, but I think it might hinder readability for the player.
How about sepia tones? Happy sent me this edit:
