Battler won't jump back to party after attacking [RM2K3]

I've found that this only happens when against custom sprites. I tried using an RTP monster and it worked fine.

Can someone tell me what's going wrong? Here's an image of the battle scene, you can see him a fair bit ahead of the rest of the party. At the beginning he's with standing with the rest of the team, but after attacking the target which he's in front of, he stops there instead of appearing back with the party.



I've checked the battle events which affect him and there's nothing there which should be causing this.

Looking for a Office battle background [RM2K3]

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can get one. I've been looking on google but there isn't really anything there.

I'm hoping for a dystopian 1984 type look, but I'm not going to be picky about it.

If you can find some other modern backgrounds as well, I'd be interested. (A lab, a space station (interior), etc)

[RM2K3] I need help with my Blue Magic system.

Here's how it works.

Character (Vincent) uses "Study". There is an event under each battle which allows the possibility of learning monster attack (blue magic) It succeeds if they have an attack that he hasn't already learned (This works on a greater than/ less than, approach). It it's a more helpful skill, the odds aren't in his favour.

Study has a blank skill under it, so it can be targeted. Otherwise it's just a battle command put under "Skills - Specific" which can't be used on anything, or be used.

Vincent also has "Blue Magic", which is classified under "Skill" which allows the use of any spells he's learnt, but the skill under "Study" also gets in here. It doesn't do anything in a battle because the "skill" (The blank skill mentioned above) itself doesn't do anything.

I had to put "Blue Magic" under "skill" so it could use switch based spells like a "White Wind" type which is based on Vincent's current HP, and "exploder", which also depends on his current HP.

Could someone let me know how to work around this or if I'll just have to live with it.

Hope this isn't too confusing. It's a bit difficult putting it in to words.

Need ideas for skills for character

I've given skills to all the characters in my game except one, and my ideas have pretty much ran out. This guy is the main character

He's pretty much a Joe Bloggs type guy at the government. Initially being pushed in this by an enthusiastic conspiracy theorist, he joins her when he's caught by his superiors for being in an area outside his own department

Here's the other characters talents to try to avoid repetition.

Sophie (Marksman): Has a talent a bit like Irvine in Final Fantasy VIII. She can use ammo as an item. The common ones can be bought, but the the two rarer ones have to be found / stolen from monsters.

James (Knight): Has a skill set along the lines of Steiner and Auron in the Final Fantasy games.

Richard (Chemist): White Mage with a modern name.

Heather (Black Mage)

Jared (Tech type guy): Has skills with a low accuracy but since they hit all enemies/allies, there is nearly always a successful hit somewhere. He also has the ability to open combination locked chests. They can be attempted without him in the party but you only get three shots until they get locked permanently.

Tania: (Thief) She just has the steal command. I was going to give her other skills but it was becoming very complicated.

Note that I'm making this in RM2K3. (The version off Steam)



Is 1-5% a good HP range for a limit break skill? [RM2K3]

I'm just wondering if it would be good for my particular project. Otherwise I was thinking 1-10%.

This all on the template battle and I'd rather get this sorted now than having to go through everything later on.

Here's what it will do for each character.

Character 1: Just gives a few basic skills.
1: A strong HP restoring move (will get him out of limit break status if used)
2: A move which protects him from physical attacks for a couple of turns
3: A very strong strong but very inaccurate move.

Character 2: Gives her action times+ on a random amount. Between 2 - 6.

Character 3: Will attack five times in a row.

Character 4: She can cast her spells on all the enemies, instead of only targeting one.

Character 5: Usually has a very inaccurate skill set which costs nothing to use, they cost nothing to use. His limit break makes these work with much higher accuracy. Between 80-100% depending on the effect. The more powerful ones have the 80% success rate.

Character 6: Just like 4, except that his target the party.

Character 7: She's the thief. Makes steal attempts work at 100% success rate, instead of the usual given rate.

Need to know how to "reset" my steal system [RM2K3]

What condition, etc, would I choose to make the switch for a successful steal be turned off so the steal command can be used again in the following battle?

Really odd problem importing battle char animations RM2K3

I've made custom battle character animations for my game using GIMP and they've imported fine. I've made four so far.

But now, it suddenly says that it isn't 256 colour, which it is. My method for making them is to make them in the RGB setting and once I'm done, I change it in to 256 colour.

Does anybody know why it would start doing this all of a sudden?

Would this symbol be understandable for a sleep status? RM2K3

I'm thinking of using this representation which was used in the Asterix comics for when a character was sleeping. A saw going back and forth through a log (Snoring).

Do you think enough people would get this, or would it be better just to go with the old Zzz?

Does anybody know what the thing is in Final Fantasy IV that when they're asleep they blow bubbles out their nose or something?

One last question. If a character is under multiple status conditions, will it cycle through the animations if you have different animations set for different conditions?
