This introduction thread seems pretty nice, so I'll properly introduce myself.

This time, in FACTS FORM, just because it really gets what you all want to know the most :D

Name: Mr.Nemo :)
Age: 19 (twenty within a month or two)
Nationality: I'm from Sweden, and as a bonus, 100% SWEDISH :0
Occupation: Musician (well, I do have a part-time job, but right now, I'm kinda unemployed :L)
Interests: Music. Music. Music. Oh, and making games :), sometimes! Really, I like anything that's creative in some manner.
Talents: heh, now I'm going to brag. I play in two rock bands, and I can handle singing, guitar, bass and drums. A Jack-of-all-trades, this goes for everything I do. I can sprite half-assed, I write half-assed music, I draw pretty crappy and so on.

Alright let's do this "Favourite things"... thing.
Favourite music: I don't do genres, I do bands. Namedropping bands is a really, really bad idea; I listen to alot of music, and a widerange of it (actually every genre imaginable besides Eurovision songcontest material and the swedish genre known as "Dansband"). But my favourite bands, that are constantly mentioned whenever I talk about music would be Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Dead Can Dance and Ulver. As I said, there's a boatload of more, but I don't think it would fit in this post.
Favourite movie(s): Bad idea. I could make a list of serveral hundreds of movies and still not be done. But, uh a FRACTIONED AMOUNT of them would be, Bladerunner, Army of the twelve monkeys, Evil Dead I & Evil Dead III: Bruce Campbell vs. the Army of Darkness, The Usual Suspects, Gay Niggers from Outer Space, Donnie Darko, The Seventh Seal (Det sjunde Inseglet, because BERGMAN ROCKS AND YOU KNOW IT), Night of the Living Dead, Akira Kurosawa's The Seven Samurai, CAN'T STOP THE.... POP! Eh, there's too much and I just can't decide what to put; but whatever movie you like, I've probably seen it.
Favourite (commercial) game: Eh... hard to say. Fallout I/II, Baldur's Gate, Age of Empires, Warcraft I/II/III, Red Alert and some oldies I don't remember the names of. FF7 still floats my boat, I think.

Favourite: Non-commercial game: That'd have to be Dink Smallwood or some other game I haven't played for years.
Favourite RM game: A Blurred Line, The Burning Grail and Sunset over Imdahl. Sorry, no more, no less :)
Favourite Books: Do Android Dream of Electical Sheep (Philip K. Dicks), The Hobbit and LOTR (Tolkien), The Narnia Series (C.S. Lewis)... uh, I wish I was an intellectual person who read lots, but I'm not, sadly.

I guess you have to take the staff for what they are, simply. Personally, I have nothing against them.

The only reason they "bashed you" was that they couldn't make you realize what they were trying to do. I mean, during the time I read the ongoing arguments, my support for the idea wavered; at first, I thought it seemed like a biased, really shitty idea. This, however, all cleared up with some serious discussing and sorting things out.

Last night on IRC I was told I was being trolled by community staff, as absurd as that sounds. Apparently, the community staff on GW are in no way obligated to behave themselves; which is kind of ironic, don't you think?

Sarevok came to visit too! After calling me a "cunt" for "trolling" he quickly departed back to whatever it was he was doing.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to bring this debate here; but debate over this goes in an endless loop. An endless loop where one side constantly mis understands the other. I can only speak for myself; but here's what I agree with.

Great: I'd love a higher quality of all types of games.
Great: I'd like more people to come to the site
Great: I'd love to be scrutinized to a higher standard

I don't know how many times one must state this to these people, but there's NOTHING wrong with the goal, but how do they go about this? They have trash talking, trolling "community staff" belittling the maker Game and Demo was founded on? When a disagreement is raised, suddenly the person is "cunt" who "only likes crappy FF clones"? It just looks like the other side is very out of touch and refuses to see game and demo's side of the argument, passing off as ignorance.

I don't see it as a problem that a site's staff have opinions on matters, and the way they express it, it's up to them.

But, Magical Negro, for one actually mentioned you and Demon Legacy, as a good example of a devoted developer who put out a lengthy qualitative RMgame.

Also, how could they change what they want to achieve, by other means, in your suggestion?
