This is exactly the sort of thing that we have been discussing at length in the Participation in this Community topic. kentona put forth pretty much this exact idea, minus the restrictions. Yet the minute somebody comes along offering to do this very thing, you burn him at the stake. Then some of you wonder why nobody downloads your games or why the RM community at large is a joke.

Yet the basic concept of "Hey guys who hate me and exiled me, check out how awesome I am and look at this thing you cant participate in" still escapes you. This pair of reviewers are some of the most laughably transparent people there are; though I suppose at this point it would have been better to simply ignore this thread for the trash that it is.

I can assure you that this is not why the RM community is "a joke". Most any community would have reacted in a similar matter when mocked with this shameless tripe. When the guy from Gamejolt came here, was he "burned at the stake"? No. Why? It should be fairly obvious. No he didn't kiss our ass, incidentally.

I think this objection of yours stems from the fact that you just don't know the history of the OP and his team member. Rosesky was banned awhile ago for... well I'm not 100% sure myself. Not a lot of people played his game, he made pissed remarks every other topic about it and left. Now he comes back stating how much he "liked" the community and wanted to give us a chance. If you actually believe that; I envy your innocence. Now we have draykith, a guy who literally got violently pissed when I called his game and Everything Turns Grey a "fall out clone". Who stated that "women need to have the crap beaten out them sometimes to show them what's what". Yeah, a first class guy worthy of our respect.

We are such, such awful people for putting these people and their highly professional and original idea out to dry.

This thread pretty much epitomizes everything wrong with this community.

Yeah, I went there.
Yeah I'm going to have to agree to this. Even if it does lock out a lot of games, and not predominately advertise RMN, it was just a fun little review thing at heart, but no, everybody had to jump down the guys throat and destroy him over it.

Go ahead Nightblade, tell me how wrong I am. I know you're going to.

HEY GUYS CHECK OUT THIS AWESOME NEW PROFESSIONAL NEW PROFESSIONAL NEW NEW SHOW I INVENTED, ONLY YOU GUYS CANT PARTICIPATE, EVER; BECAUSE ILL GET SUED WHEN I GO BIG TIME!

Yeah, I know hurt your feelings a little while ago and you're still pretty pissed about it, but even you have to admit that this is pretty stupid.

also:

Would be great if someone who wasn't a complete joke actually went forward with this basic concept

I don't know, maybe you weren't here for their (Rose / Draykith ) antics, or maybe you thought the review was really really good.

The Tiamat Sacrament OST

I wouldnt mind listening to this, but my card has a really awful midi synth (XFI Xtreme Gamer)

Anime - your guilty pleasure

I like anime.

I like a lot of good, and anime that I know full well is terrible; it's kind of difficult to describe; but there is one thing I'm not really ashamed of liking, something that caught me a bit by surprise; and that's One Piece.

I had very very loosely followed the anime, watching a few of the (badly) dubbed episodes whilst moving a few years ago... Then one day; I by chance clicked on this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLHQp63zyOs ( Warning, giant spoilers) and found myself compelled to begin watching the series.

Despite it's occasional corny moments I find myself enjoying it immensely.

Twell: Light Version

The logo is decent, you're going to want to make the letters solid instead of semi transparent.

Your mapping is also serviceable but your writing needs a great deal of work.

Yeah.. I don't care about your egofests, I'll lay this down on the table.

It would have been better if you had kept your ignorant mouth shut, oh well. Let's start with "egofests". The only one who's shown any kind of (undeserved) ego is yourself. I have no delusions about what I do, but that's neither here nor there.

Do a google search for indie games then rpg maker games, next, learn to read the title 'Indie Game Review Show' meaning even though people cant be assed to not use graphics from games like 'final fantasy' and shit like that. There are other game making programs out there, and out of those there are other people doing it from scratch.

Why use your brain when you can do a google search, right? Here, let me break this down for you; since you obviously need this broken down into easy to comprehend bits. The irrefutable fact is that "Indie" games are games made by... well, an independent party. Regardless of production values or subjective quality; this is a fact that cannot be denied.

I am well aware that there are many other game making programs out there, and I of course have enjoyed other independent games in the past (IE: Cave Story) However, that has absolutely nothing to do with this discussion. Why are you trying to divert attention from your own hackneyed work?

I have (612) Friends on youtube waiting for the first show and (167) subscribers that cant wait for the first episode..

I am going to isolate this because it deserves emphasis. I'll begin by stating that I simply don't care, and that your friends list and meager subscriber count have no bearing on the quality of your actual "show", but let's no dwell on this too much. Your words do more than I ever could.

out of these there are people that haven't heard of Rpg Maker, are not part of ENGLISH rpg maker forums, or uses a different game program. I know it seems arrogant for me to sponsor my label to review your games .. even though even if it was arrogant to do so (dedicating my time to play YOUR WHOLE FUCKING GAME START TO FINISH) it'll be more arrogant to curse me before you even try me out.

So, not only do you come here knowing full well the type of games that are typically released here (Using ripped and / or highly edited ripped media), but you tarnish the already sullied name of RPG maker perpetuating everything that's wrong with the community. Listen, if playing someone's amateur work from start to finish is something of a huge favor in your eyes; there is something seriously wrong.

I don't care either way, if you are interested.. submit a game video and I'll be glad to play it. If you are not, keep bitching in this forum post about how your shit doesn't smell.

Here is the part where I'd post the obligatory pot black kettle schtick; instead I'll skip that just call you a fucking moron.

The only reason I posted this project here is I liked this community at one time and something gnawed at me to come back and review a few rpgmaker.net games. I did not hide the fact that I'm Rose Skye, My avatar says "Rose and Jenny" meaning I must be Rose, neh?

I can barely even tell what your avatar says, you lack even the most basic knowledge of color theory.

Also, you liked this community? Didn't you leave here in a pissy mood? Oh well, I guess that doesn't matter.

Balls in your court, you can continue to be hostile bastards, or you can think to yourself.. Hey, he's paying money to review peoples game and give the publicity. He is going as far as to pay 100 dollars a month on advertising, features, site costs, bandwidth fees, and staff to review our games.

Oh I have thought this through, far more than you have I assure you. The money you've spent? Meaningless. Your publicity? Nothing. Your staff? Pathetic.

I'm having a hard time believing that this isn't some kind of bad joke. I think to myself "No... Nobody is this stupid, not even these guys" but here it is, in the flesh. There's your review, there's your poorly constructed website, and there's your shameless ego; laying here flat on it's belly.

I know full well everyone must start somewhere, but the fact that you have resigned yourself to this professional facade before you even know how to record a voice properly can only be called pathetic. Not only is this a waste of time and money, but it is detrimental to the already poor image of RPG making.

The type of people we'd want in the community (IE: Reasonable people with half a brain) will look at this kind of garbage and be repulsed. Do you understand yet? Not only are you wasting your own time; but you're hurting the english RPG making community as a whole.

Do you think this is overly hostile? Go post this on something awful, or another website where people with some kind of thinking capacity reside and prepare to be dismantled in a way that will make this post here seem like a grammar error laden pep talk to you.

Oh wait, but you're not here anymore; right? I guess your avatar changed on it's own.

I find it funny how in the participation topic people are saying we should have review videos/get the word out about RMN more, then when someone makes one they all tear it down into nothingness.

The only custom thing is ridiculous but seriously.

Have you read the entire original post?

Here's a conundrum.

That's not a conundrum.

Here's a conundrum for you:

This will be a show sponsored by Loveless Entertainment. To enter one of your games for a review for episode one of the indie game review show post a video response of Your game's gameplay. If you don't have a screen recording program just post a demo link and I'll upload it to my normal account and submit it in your steed. If you don't have any games that's fine because we have a showcase for talent at the end of the show.

Yeah, this was one of my secrets I had been negotiating with my staff. Now that I have a lengthy fanbase foundation I figured I minus well start now.
Here is the deal. You can only submit original games with graphics, and etc that do not belong to any commercial groups. I have to decline/reject any applications that'll get me sued.. as you know I'm going commercial soon and yeah... that'll hinder me.

Apparently, Loveless is a sub standard homo-erotic anime as well as a poorly written fictional play found primarily found in FF7: Crisis Core - The search for more money. You may as well call yourselves "Dragon Ball Z Enterprisesâ„¢".

So, how long will it be before they get bored and neglect this?

I'm wagering around a week.

Drakiyth (pending) - http://www.youtube.com/user/drakiyth

Hahaha, ok. A guy who has a hissy fit when you share your opinion on his game is going to be reviewing other people's games. Classic.

Would be great if someone who wasn't a complete joke actually went forward with this basic concept, maybe even bother to take a look at games regardless of the resources used, as there are many worthwhile games that use ripped media (Exit Fate to name just one).

Seriously, this is some of the highest ego to crap ratio I've ever seen. "Sponsored" Entertainment" "Commercial". Oh wow, hey guys he's really serious!

SHOW ME YOUR SCREENSHOTS - Fall Edition

Cause hes doing something different.

How about I treat you to dinner if you're ever in the New York City area? I'll warm up a plate for you and defecate on it. That's different, right?

Nightblade, use the third one. Games (especially rm2k3 ones) that use the other two always tend to have an issue with jagged edges with the portraits since there is no background color to compliment them. Photoshop does a good job of blending the background color with the actual portrait. I'm not too sure how big your portraits are going to be when they're done, but you have about 65-70 pixels of space until the message box alignment becomes a problem.

That's a good point, I had nearly forgotten about that issue.
