So I run the game, and the text and graphics are missing. I'm obviously doing it terribly wrong, but how do I get this to run properly?

All you need to do is install the font, "PressStart2P" that came with the game. :)

Bane Ring is Black Gem + Brass Ring. You can get the gem in the Lidenburg shop. :)

For an alchemy recipe to show up, none of the ingredients can be equipped on you. The recipes are just for you to write down/make note of so when you go to the respective counter, you can plan to make something. You'll get surprises too! Normally if you just unequip everything and go to all three counters, you're bound to be able to upgrade something / a few things!

That egg is actually a post-game thing. In the post-game final battle you're given a really rare monster. :)

Max Level is 50. I wish I could've gotten the EXP TNL to display 0 at 50, but it wouldn't do that for me! :(

As for Megaslime Drops, there are other places you can get them as well. Startled Shelly drops it with 100% (found in Onyu as the NM. Because the low number of enemies in Onyu past, he isn't that rare). Also, if you've rebuilt Onyu a decent amount, you can actually purchase monster ingredients from 500g-2000g a piece, depending on which one. :)
