Dragon Quest: Legacy of the Lost
There should have been a font called "Press Start 2P" that came with the game. If you install it, the words will show up. :)

Melody doesn't unlock Arcanist until you clear the Quevi region (after Yuria). I'm amazed that you are level 50! You are supposed to clear Quevi around level 21-22.
Have you beaten Skydragon on the mountain yet? If you have you can return to Yardrick in past time and visit the mayor. He'll let you repurchase the iron boots which will cause the fans to no longer blow you back. (Remove Melody from your party before you go though, because she is still mad at her father).
If you haven't beaten Skydragon, you can't get the boots. But, the winds aren't as bad as they appear! The fan's duration is 8 seconds and it turns back on in about 3. If you are completely stopped when it turns out, you "brace yourself" on the ground and the fan doesn't blow you. But if you are moving at all, you'll get pushed back. You can use the stopping method to get to the dragon and then purchase the boots if needed.
I'll finish the guide when I do my final update. Unfortunately, you will encounter one of the bugs I had ingame because Melody is over level 28 when you unlock Arcanist. By being level 50, the swap to Arcanist will be cosmetic only. However, the update will fix any issue. If the update isn't released and you make it to the class change, I'll be happy to provide you with the updated version so you can utilize her new and improved ability list.

Summersname (common encounter in volcano) - 5%
Aiatar (rare encounter on lower floor in volcano) - 100%
Persiva Region
Coatol - (medium encounter in the fields) - 50%
A handful of required battles drop them too. Earning 4 achievement points nets you 10 scales and if you recruit 12 people to Onyu, you can buy them in the shop for 2000 gold.

dragon quest was probably one of the 1st games i ever played as a king but i was so young i honestly forgot about it completely
and only remember owning it nothing more
its still awesome people made this into a rpg maker game props

Is anyone relatively good at RGSS2 scripting that could possibly help me out with a small problem I'm having on the final version?
One of the last 4 scripts I have added has caused the HP & MP Values of party members to occasionally display as a double instead of an int. So I will sometimes see the HP as 254.0/254 as opposed to 254/254. It looks really annoying, but I like the functionality added by the scripts.
I'd be willing to share the entire project with you so you could take a look and of course include you in the credits!

I think I found a bug in the game. Melody can't do Oomph. She is supposed to be buffed with Oomph, Buff, Resist and Restore during her Arcane Benison Ritual while killing the required monster. But she does not have it on her ability list to do and none of my other party members can do it. The other 3 things she can do.
Or perhaps I should abandon it and get Olians Runic Aurora.
The guide states she can do Oomph after getting class upgrade. She is fully upgraded at Level cap. Also All other party members, too.
Hey! Melody is unfortunately supposed to have Oomph, but only if you weren't overleveled when you did the class change. I discovered after the last patch that if your level was over 29 when you unlocked Arcanist, she would never learn the Oomph ability.
I am intending to release the final patch (with a lot of new things added) in 3-6 months, but until then, I'll be happy to make any modifications. If you send me your file through PM, I can modify her ability list to be what it is supposed to be.

I'm enjoying the very good game and would say it's one of the best or even the best rpgmaker game I've played sofar. I came to over 60 gamehours and got the blackshard now for the last land. So thanks and good job.
I also would like to see the completed guide.
My question is how to get the Aqua shield to make the Ogre shield. It's the missing material to make it. I didn't happen to come across it.
I'm glad you're enjoying it! You can find Aqua Shield from the Grakos mobs in the Crystal Caverns in Yu'Tolio past time. :)

No glitch! Rosa ran off, but not to the cavern. NPCs in the town will mention that she appeared to be headed towards Yardrick, the closest neighboring island.

I just wanted to say you've made something of a masterpiece here! I owned Dragon Quest V as a kid and this has brought back so many good memories, and has subsequently taken away a similarly large amount of hours away from my life. Thank you very much for finding a way to entertain me during my freetime, as it's a task few things manage to accomplish these days.
