Why does dying have to suck?

If you don't need to grind you're not playing right!

....is what I have convinced myself.

In fact I dislike FF13's retries. I took the cutscene rewatching as 'NEXT TIME, DON'T LOSE'. I got punished for losing, and I would return with a stronger party and more knowledge of the enemy.

Personally, I try to save at every available oppurtunity in most FF's (not 13, I don't bother with about 3 because of their frequency) and hope to GOD that there is a save point near the boss.
If not, I shouldn't have lost! :V.

I grind to the maximum so I don't lose for this exact reason. It's the whole point. And I make my games with that mentality.
I plan on warning of it, too. There's my piece.

POV switching is a bitch... >__>

If I need to switch between POV's, which I do quite often whilst writing, I introduce the scene and try to get across the message -this is not the same character-.
Also '*' are my best friends. I use them to break up parts when I don't really want to create a chapter.
This could work for your idea. I remember doing it once, but not everyone was in the same situation. (It was a Heroes novelization =/)

However though two or more POV's can work, I don't know if your idea is really one for coherency. If you're telling a more abstract tale this might work, but your reader needs to know this is about to happen, that this book is going to jump a little, from person to person.

You've also got to consider what works better as a scene rather than portraying each character's thoughts. Sometimes not knowing what a character is thinking makes them intriguing. Maybe we'll find out the other character's thoughts when he reflects back in another chapter. There's plenty of oppurtunity for POV switching and elaborating other points in a book, it's up to you to use your best judgment to what would fit into your style of writing and the style of story. After all, it's your story.

Creativity: Thinking about "Experience/Leveling Systems"

You know they had a Connect Four type levelling system for Chocobo World. After a battle you'd get a magic stone that would randomly appear in a 3x3 grid. Once 3 stones appeared in a row (diagonal, horizontal or vertical) the board would be cleared and your chocobo would gain a level.
This doesn't really apply to stat gain but I still think it was cool (I think the whole Chocobo World game was pretty cool).

Games and Why You Play Them

Am I the only guy who plays his own games...?
I play my games for testing's sake, not for fun. I test everything a zillion times, when I'm to play the complete version, I'm already sick of it. Sometimes... before that.

This.

I play games when I have absolutely nothing else to do. Usually I'll find something creative or time wasting to do before it comes to that.
Or if I'm morally obliged.

Cosplay Crisis

Can we discuss FF13 somewhere else, please? This profile is for Cosplay Crisis, not FF13.

FF13 is not in this game. The Final Fantasies available on PS1 (7,8,9) are in this game, no others.

The book is 'The Sorceress's Knight', a novel mentioned a few times in Final Fantasy VIII since Seifer has yet to return it to the library. The novel is a romance and is part of the reason Seifer aspires to 'knightship'.

The idea of being a Sorceress's knight, I think, was romanticised by this book. So since Squall offers to be Rinoa's knight in FF8, he's probably read the book. I suspect he does a fair bit of reading in his spare time because of avoiding people.

As to why Levi has a copy, that's a mystery. He probably got it off the Internet, or wrote the novel himself (like Squall, Levi has a lot of spare time.)

Jenova_BIRTHCC_Versioncolour.jpg

Nah....I decided instead of going all out monster as FF7 did with the JENOVA forms, I would make them humane. This game is about a loss of identity, after all. This creature appears human, yet is far from it.

I was going for a almost fetal position to symbolize life, but it is Jenova.

This is the boss you have to fight before escaping Exhibition Tower and after the 'proper' confrontation with Arithial (the one where Kumo doesn't run away screaming.)

Well I don't think Jenova wears a bra ._.
