Midsummer - RMN Community Project

Count me in :3

I like the organizing a festival idea, getting the items and getting randomly thwarted by peeps.
Plus you could have multiple endings depending on the quality, quantity and variation of items you collect (like if you do nothing everyone beats you up :D)

Copy_of_LeviRelaxedColour.jpg

Can I please make a note that is a JPG because the PNG version was freaking ENORMOUS, mainly because of the 52 layers I happened to have.

Need more art topics <____<;

Let's not :D.

Looks really awesome Ness, I love the butterfly wings :3

What are you jammin' too?

And just in case I screwed up the code:

Cosplay Crisis

The text file is included in the download, PF Tempesta Seven. It needs to be installed in /WINDOWS/Fonts. Just decompress the font file and copy/paste the files into the Fonts folder. Easy-peasy ;).

Zombie-fying

That's the Gerogero boss, however you spell it.

I might be adding Abaddon in as well, we'll see.

edchuy's Release Something! X marks the spot! Wrap-Up

2. You can never assume that because your game is geared towards the fans of X game, a player who downloads it will necessarily have played that game and know how to use the non-default systems you might have implemented. At least give them the option or not to have a tutorial to learn about the systems. Otherwise, face the possibility that the player might get discouraged and abandon playing your game altogether.

Is it just me or is this final thought directed at just me :P. (I am keeping it in mind, however, and implementing tutorials.)

Great work, edchuy!

Sorry, but I love the idea of making fangames.

As a fan-game maker myself I try to put a creative spin on the game by not just throwing a bunch of random characters into a random world.
I try to think of my story as 'inspired' by the games I'm sourcing from rather than a direct copy. Same with a number of other things present in Cosplay Crisis.
I also try to think of my characters as 'more' than what they were in the game their derived from. I try to embellish points I feel were lacking in order to make the character feel that little bit more real, or I add/change things to make the character distinguishable from their originals but still accurate and a proper homage.

I think fangames generally get given a bad rap for the reasons mentioned here: made by newbies, young, and want to replicate their favourite games. I'm not saying I'm an apple far from that tree, but I try to execute my ideas with a bit of style and flair.

I think this needs to be done with any decent fan-game. Also, while trying to be original, I also try to invoke a feeling of nostalgia through playing for veterans of the series's. If not a veteran, it just plays as you would a normal game.

I failed at making a direct 'sequel' and I am trying to sort of redeem myself for that horrific mess of an idea.
It wasn't necessary and there are just too many theories for a sequel to be plausible if made by a fan rather than someone who actually wrote/knows the story accurately.

All in all I have to support fangames and crossovers. I no longer support, nor will I ever again, the idea of making a sequel/prequel/I don't care. It's unrational and pretty dang stupid.

Cosplay Crisis

Whatever suits your fancy. I honestly don't know how long it'll take me to finish this, but I'm aiming for September-October. At best.

I get demotivated easily. BUT I have gotten a fair way past what you can play in the demo. What I have is about 2 to 2 and a half hours long, so =/.

Your Top 5

Ho-hum, lessee...wish I had more games than FF on here but I need to get out more.

5. Final Fantasy XIII- needed to be harder and more punishing if you died. GAMING IS NOT FOR PUSSIES.
4. Final Fantasy IX: I love you so much, Zidane. That's all I need to say.
3. Resident Evil 4- Wii Edition. OWNS RE5. Plus it feels like I'm really shooting those damn zombies. DIE!
2. Jak II: Renegade: I found this game frustratingly difficult in some parts but extremely rewarding once you've finished them. Plus the main character could turn PURPLE AND PSYCHO. What's not to love?
(This is the only game I have almost snapped a controller in half over- no kidding)
1. Final Fantasy VIII- I love this game beyond nostalgia and first-RPG reasons, the Junction system kicks so much freakin' ass. And Triple Triad. And Squall. I could continue, but I won't.
