Revamping the desert bug city.

Just threw some WIP sprites in there for fun. Fly merchant, Silkworm Spinner, Roach Guard.

Fantastic as always, Dookie. I love the little details here and there, and the color pallete is really great.

Seems interesting! I'd recommend editing future gameplay videos with some cuts so it doesn't appear as one long stretch, but I like what you got so far!

I aim to disappoint.
And it's not just imitating the graphics that makes a game like that! I well aware of that, for sure. I'm actually really excited to write for it once I get enough assets done to start everything off. I don't want to go for a really wacky feel, just kind of...quirky, I guess? I don't know if anyone can tell the difference just yet.

(Plus, it's kind of hard to share story details on a screenshot thread. Graphics are the only things I can really flaunt here. :P )

Your SMBX level seems to be coming along nicely, too! I love the little Cheep Cheeps in the water. The only thing I'd suggest aside from the thing Liberty was suggesting was that the Goomba's style seems a little out of place and the sign's outline is far too light compared to everything else.
Other than that, looks great!
