Is there a way to animate the background during the battle?
If you're heavily invested in your work, then you should be able to produce something of worth with the limitations RPG Maker presents, and if you succeed, then your achievements will be lauded all the more because of said limitations. Don't give up because you can't achieve exactly what you want to achieve, great things occasionally require certain sacrifices.
Got a Degica Email about "Hero and Daughter." It looks even worse than the normal RM* shite on Steam. Impressive.

I'm working on Steel Spirit SaGa, and bam! I introduced a new character to join the party (one who wasn't already on the roster), so now I need to make some additions to the custom systems I have in place to accommodate this new character. But also it gives me the chance to add more characters without worrying as much.
-Edit- Curse me and my mediocre spriting skills!

People just want to make a few bob from their hobby without sacrificing the luxury of dicking around with their work. They either don't know, or don't care that in order to sell their stuff, they need to step up their game, and make their shit look more professional.
I lost faith in Steam RPG Maker games when I saw that one that blatantly ripped sprites from Suikoden, and implemented them poorly into the battle system.

I'm glad you managed to sort out the scrolling backgrounds. It shows that your game was inspired by Mother, without blatantly ripping it off, and it gives it its own charm.
What are you thinking about right now?
I'm sat here, surrounded by my own shitty thoughts wondering why it's so friggin' hard for adults to be tested for autism.
Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!
The lights are a bit much. But I like the presentation, it reminds me of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain.

I need someone with writing experience to evaluate if my idea for bonding scenes is good - basically, you find unique marked spots that trigger a skit involving two characters (which you have to have in your party for). I planned to have one for each character pair among 16 playable characters, which equals 110 dialogues in total. This sounds like an amount I can handle, but can anyone confirm if it is reasonably doable?
I'd say it is reasonably doable, but it'll take a lot of time, especially if each individual encounter is unique, and not like the 80+ endings of Star Ocean 2 in which half of them were just reused endings with different characters. (That's how I remember it, anyways.)
I've got dump a shit ton of exposition in my game at the moment, and you'd think that given that I feel my writing has improved over the past year I'd be able to think of something interesting but noooooooo. Drawing a blank...

Currently heartbroken and realized that I actually had fever and other symptoms after someone told me that she has someone else.
If she's a friend, then at least stick around enough so that she knows you're there if she needs to talk to anyone, just be all up in her grills about it. I mean women like who women like... ain't no creature as simple as a man going to change their minds. A good skill to have would to be able to train yourself not to like the person in question. I managed to do that once, and it was tough. But it'll be better in the long run. I'm probably spouting bollocks that's already been said 100 times over.
Be a friend, but be a platonic friend. And if the new squeeze does cock things up monumentally, don't dive in there like a vulture.
That's my two pence anyways.
