RADNEN'S PROFILE

I like to make video games, especially action RPG's.

I make games slowly. Call me slow. But quality is always better than quantity!

Are the obstructions only limited to squares?

overlays shouldn't be over the hud though.

My bad. Thanks for spotting that! I'll have it fixed. :)

Darkas, I was only seeing if both parties could make compromises. If two engines out there used Lua, then the Game-Making-Community-That-Script's-In-Lua would get fragmented.

Of course, feel free to just continue with your plans.

Visuals should be organically approved, not approved with maths and graphs, unless it's a tessellation.

This has something to do with time...

I could see this as a pretty viable time if say, the game was released as a series of chapters. I generally dislike the chapter idea since some games meet just the first chapter, and if you are very lucky a second chapter. Otherwise, for a stand alone and solid game, 4 hours is just about right.

Hi!

I was part of a discussion for something quite similar to what you have proposed.

We were thinking of slightly different things, but I would hate seeing several open source projects do the same exact thing. So, here is the link to the discussion of a somewhat similar engine. Perhaps you can make a few compromises and integrate the best of both ideas into the engine/editor?

I am eager to look forward to new game making tools, and this is looking really promising. Look for a member called 'tung', he is the one trying to develop this new engine, and he could quite possibly help you guys too.

@Rei: Ghaa! That map has too much green. It looks too confusing for me. The contrast is playing with my eyes.

I hate how my ultra sharp monitor kills many games here for creating eye-bleeding contrast. :(

Wouldn't the room be brighter? That's some pretty intense darkness. I guess lava may not be as bright as it is more subtle than most light giving substances. Yet... there definitely would me more of it. Lava doesn't usually show up in small localized areas, like this.

Love the atmosphere though. Seems like dark and more darkness is a common theme in all of these "pretty" looking games.
