I like to make video games, especially action RPG's.
I make games slowly. Call me slow. But quality is always better than quantity!

Hopefully I'm getting this right:
"Hello Rob! It's been a long time since I last saw you! I once thought you were useful. I heard you were retiring, so you no longer need that junk! Haha, bye Cormack!"

Let's name this game Final fantasy because it is a RPG.
Final Fantasy is like Zelda, the plot is different each time, even though some characters will carry over.
Because of this inconsistency, I think game makers get confused and believe that so long as it shares a title, it's okay. While for a few select titles it may seem so (such as FF Crystal Chronicles), this doesn't give the liberty to fuck up a good game series.
I agree with this totally!

B) The good fangames, while they are amazing in some ways, the talent used to make them could've been spent on something original, and I favor this decision.

Actually, that is a nice title screen. Remove the extra text. I kinda like the background being non-black. It looks prettier.
(I know the above is not the title screen, I'm just saying, it'd be sweet if it were without the extra text).

Like the rogue-like look. But even then, those mountains (those dark triangles, right?) seem too dark. I'm certain you can use a brownish color.

@geodude: I sorta didn't, I just went ahead with what I thought needed improvement. I kinda like this new texture. And they are not imbeciles. I asked for some pointers, and, well, I got some. :)

I can't appease everybody. There's those who like contrasty graphics and those who like it more natural.
In any case, I retextured the grass, made it a bit more mellow. After all, it's repeated so often. And I made a few smaller contrast changes.
Back-to-back: (new / old)

(the trees will always be a work in progress). These have already been changed once. But we'll see...

New Rocks, scenery, and bushes.
What do you guys think this scene may lack? It's a bit too green right now.
