I made a video analysis of Black Panther's African references
Hi everyone I'm now trying to make youtube videos. Here is my first video. Don't worry I haven't given up on making games, but I thought this would also be fun to do plus eventually I will make videos about my art and probably my games too.
This first video though is all about showing all the African references in the recent Black Panther trailer. I hope you enjoy.

I'm just starting out so any support would be great. If you feel like commenting please comment on the video rather than on this site because I here that comments on youtube are good for a channel but if you rather comment here on RMN thats fine too. I'll try to answer your questions if you have any.

Continental Drift is fun to look at
I was thinking last night that scientists must have already predicted the future of continental drift right? And I was right, check out these fun videos. Also, I'll include one that shows the past as well.

RIP Chris Cornell. Black Hole Sun won'tchu come and wash away the rain
Sad news friends who grew up in the 90s. Chris Cornell the lead singer of Soundgarden just died. I'm posting a link to one of my favorite 90's songs here in remembrance of him.
Net Nuetrality and how it might effect this site
I don't know a whole lot about the issue but I was wondering, since I've heard that the Trump administration may try to remove Net Nuetrality, how would that if at all, mess with our friendly neighborhood RMN website?
Edit: Update - This was on TYT news and I felt like sharing in case anyone wanted to hear an update of the situation in Washington DC.

Crafting in Games
How do you all feel about crafting in games?
Personally I was never a fan. The few games that had crafting always annoyed me because I felt they were too intuitive and random.
But recently while playing Zelda BOTW I was introduced to its cooking mechanics which are basically a crafting system and you know what it actually works. I find it very intuitive. So these days I am in favor of crafting as long as its done in an easy to understand way.

Play Testers needed please help
Due to a heavy workload and tight deadline my current tester hasn't been able to fully play my new Demo; so I need another tester. I would very much like to release Nsala Sunset during this month because it's Black History Month and this is an African themed game. So please if you can spare a little time to play test my new game I'd appreciate it.
Do not play the currently publicly available version I will make you an official tester and give you a link to the new test version through a private message.
Things I need to know is:
Is the game too hard
Is the game confusing and not clear enough in instructions
Is the dialog interesting
Here is what the game looks like but again dont download that old version.
P.S. The Demo will likely take you anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on how much side content you complete. Also the dialog at the end of the demo varies slightly depending on whether you have certain conversations in the game.

Mario 3D World camera problems
Does anyone actually like Mario 3D World more than classic 2D Marios like Super Mario World or full 3D Marios like Mario 64?
I understand the philosophy behind merging the two Mario styles but I don't like it.
Originally I thought I hated it because I was playing co-op with my brother and he kept demanding that I play the way he wanted me to play.
But I recently played it on my own and I still don't like it.
I think it's the camera perspective and controls due to the perspective. A few times it even goes isometric which only works for slow games like strategy games like FF Tactics.

The Meaning of Life according to the Dalai Lama
I've been reading a lot of books during my recovery from my injury (still not fully recovered) most of those books being African Art books of coarse and some other cultures too because why not, Oceania is awesome :)
But I also picked up a book written by both an American psychologist and the Dali Lama called The Art of Happiness. Originaly I was just looking for a book about Buddhism but found this in the library instead. I think about morality a lot and wanted to see how my thoughts compared to eastern philosophy.
I spend a lot of time thinking what makes one moral apparently the Dali Lama focuses more on what makes one happy.
In fact, the Dali Lama believes that one's purpose in life is to be happy.
The book talks about stuff like feeling compassion for everyone and when you approach a person or situation think first if the thing you will say or do will ultimately lead to both your happiness and the happiness of others. And also it separates pleasure and happiness because the Dali Lama sees those as two very different things. To put that in internet terms, a troll can get pleasure by hurting someone's feelings but does that ultimately make them happy? That example isn't from the book but figured I'd make up a similar one.
Anyway I haven't finished the book yet but it's a fun read.
One time when I was in highschool I remember I told my friends an idea I had of what the meaning of life is but they laughed it off. I honestly don't remember what I said.
Anyone have an idea of what you think life's purpose is? Also feel free to argue with the Dali Lama's idea he is after all human like the rest of us. :)
