Review for a Review

Hope this is the right forum place to post this sort of thing.

Hello, I was hoping to get a new review of Nsala Liberation which I just updated.
And as thanks for your time I'll review one of your games assuming its something my computer can run and something I want to play(Because I don't want to force myself to play something I think I won't like). I've done two reviews so far, so if your curious about my review style you can check out those two.
Alternatively I could play test something for you.

Nsala Liberation has yet to be given a full review so if possible please finish it before reviewing. I will strive to do the same if I do a review of your game.

I've added a lot to make things simpler and easier so hopefully you'll enjoy yourself.

If you like the idea of a Zelda style game but without the whole killing aspect you may dig my game. There is no combat in this game, at least not in the traditional sense.

EVER OASIS

A game I hope doesn't get over shadowed at E3 is the new Nintendo IP made by the guy who created Secret of Mana and worked on the old Final Fantasy games.

Ever Oasis so far looks a lot like the kinda game I'd want to make if I could make a 3D game.

It's Egyptian aesthetics are beautiful. And if you know me, African themed gaming is my thing. Sure it's just Egypt the overhyped part of Africa lol but still I think this is progress.
And the game play in battle and exploration are like a cross between Zelda and Secret of Mana. Plus there is ever a town building element as well.

P.S. This character Tethu is not only Nintendo's first black main character but also he/she (You get to choose gender from what I hear) could be the first playable black person in Smash.

[RMXP] Permanent Button Config?

I was just testing my game from someone else's computer and I had to go into config to set up the V key as the R button. Normally in XP the R button is assigned to W only. But my game has it as both W and V because I feel that V is a more comfortable position for it. I can't assign it to other buttons because those are needed for other functions. When you play my game it tells you that you can slide with V or W. So it'd be terrible if players have to manually press F1 to config what I intended as default. Do any of you know how to make sure that my config for the V key stays with the game no matter who's computer it goes to? Is there something in the script I can alter?

Something odd I noticed

RMN's website doesn't appear to work on the Wii U's web browser anymore.

I'm pretty sure it used to before that big server crash but now anytime I try to check out the site from my Wii U it just brings up an error screen.

There might be nothing that can be done about it, but I figured I'd just let you know. It's not a huge deal but it's something.

Also, have any of you had this issue? Does this problem happen with other console browsers?

What is your favorite Easter Egg in an RPG Maker game?

Lets share our favorite Easter Egg in an RPG Maker game?

I don't think I've seen many Easter Eggs in RPG maker games, maybe I'm just not great at finding them. You could probably say Yume Niki is entirely comprised of Easter Eggs.

But anyway, I'm going to pick something that may or may not be considered an Easter Egg.
If I remember correctly, in Sooz's Virtual Grappi if you click the title name it brings you to a minigame. It's a sliding square minigame. I'm not too good at it but I thought it was cool for two reasons. One it's an easter egg minigame and two, it reminded me of the secret sliding puzzle on the boat of Final Fantasy I.

So what's your pick?

How important is making items useful?

One of the things I intended to do with my adventure game was make items useful. Healing spells in my game take a second or two of time to cast because I wanted to give players a reason to use healing items which work instantly. And auto MP regeneration takes a long time because I wanted players to use MP restoring items in a pinch. Also there are TENT items which full restore at save points.
My new test player refuses to ever use any of these items because he says he never uses items in games ever. Luckily because I continue to lower the difficulty, he has been able to do this. I think the only healing items I've seen him use was the Medicine item to heal the rare status ailments of the game. But because of this mentality of his, I'll watch him wait for long periods of time to auto regen his entire MP bar even though he has accumulated plenty of MP restoring items which could do it instantly. (Also, he has jack tons of in game money he refuses to use on items)
So one of my other game design philosophies is to make sure I'm not wasting players time. And yes technically it's his choice to regen his MP slowly instead of using his items but that made me wonder, should I include an ability later on in the game that lets MP regen even faster? Would it make the game too easy and make items even less important? What are your thoughts?

P.S. I am not talking about Red Nova or Unity this particular play tester is someone I know offline.

Pokemon in Hawaii. What country is next?

I haven't played a Pokemon game in years but I am a fan and it's cool to see that the newest Pokemon game will take place in Hawaii. I really hope they use Hawaiin art and culture to influence not just the area but also some of the new monster designs. Like tiki based pokemon for example.

What part of the world would you like Pokemon to be in next?

If you know me, my answer is of course somewhere in Africa. Hard to pick an exact country though. Probably the Democratic Republic of Congo. Other good ones include: Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, Ivory Coast, and Burkina Faso.

Edit: If I were to pick a non African country it'd be Peru.

A new game in the classic Ys series

I just saw this today so if this is old new to you sorry but I just wanted to share because this is a cool unappreciated action RPG series and seeing it on a next gen console is pretty amazing.
I know the graphics aren't nearly as impressive as other PS4 stuff like FFXV but keep in mind it's a smaller company and considering that I think it looks beautiful.

If you are new to this game series it's a bit like Zelda but more action focused.
For more explanation check out this website which does an overview of the whole series.

Mario Maker's impact

So can anyone explain to me why automatic Mario levels are so popular in Mario Maker?
From my observations it seems that people just value an experience way more than a challenge. Which I find frustrating, it's a game, you should be playing it not watching it. So what's your thoughts?

Side Note: I wonder if anyone made a automatic RPG where you have to watch the character grind lol.

On a some what related note I saw another really popular level in Mario maker that wasn't automatic but what annoyed me was it had a deceptive puzzle. What I mean is there was a part where a brick wall was in the way and a babomb was needed. Now instead of letting the player figure out on there own that they needed to bring the bomb to the wall this section was mostly automatic in that the bomb came to the exact spot it needed to be and all the player had to do was step on it. Thus stroking the player's ego making them think they accomplished more than they actually did. Do you feel that it's right for a game designer to do that?
I felt it was cheap, and insulting to the player's intelligence but at the same time it seems that players these days can't handle much of any challenge.
So is this where games are headed? I know game designers must guide and give hints to players but that level of hand holding is maddening to me. Players should know that a bomb will break a wall. Keep in mind this is just one example of a number of instances where I see people just wanting video games with no challenge what so ever. No one wants an overly hard unfair game but I just felt like pointing this out because it was frustrating me and I needed to vent.

P.S. I do think it's okay for a little bit of automation in a level so long as it's not the whole level.
